Nah, I mean where's the release...we should have gotten it by now! And of course, I mostly meant you when I said "aside from people on here" .

Me, too. I never even heard of Gainsborough Pictures. Looks like, if we don't get Sirk, we get melodrama in taffeta. A substitute worth checking out.

I'm enthusiastically in for all of these except the pseudo-Albanian, which I'm still curious about.

Looking at the titles, 'Sunday Bloody Sunday' sounds to be an interesting film. I will definitely have to pick it up as well as 'Rosemary's Baby'.

In the Mood for Love is a definite.

Can't wait to see what they have in the store for the traditionally big month of November...

Another kid here, I'm 24 next month. I imported my first Criterion when I was 15, I believe it was either Ikiru or the Olivier Shakespeare boxset, and haven't looked back since.

Didn't give much attention to the rest of the announced films so here is what I think...

Rosemary's Baby - I will probably get the film down the line or if a sudden interest grows on me by the time it gets released. At the moment? I can live without it but is a good addition.

Sunday Bloody Sunday - Another title I am fine without. It looks interesting but not enought to be on top of the ever growing buy list. The second film this year that touches upon LGBT themes so if there is a reason to add it to the Collection, it might as well be an indication that Almodovar is eventually joining the CC .

The Forgiveness of Blood - Can't really comment on this as I didn't even knew it existed a few hours ago. Not all that interested, to be honest. If they were going to add Marston to the Collection I would have prefered his Maria Llena eres de Gracia which also "counted" as a Colombian film.

Talking about Colombian films, I would like to see Criterion adding El Vuelco del Cangrejo (Of which I proudly own the Colombian DVD ) to the Collection. I like it a lot better than Marston's "Colombian" effort .

Oh please happen. On the subject of the films...I'm kinda glad because I've felt we could use more films with the theme... and that other title this year is as good as it gets, so I'm pretty happy about that.

Was really hoping for Le Samourai, once again.

But man, In the Mood for Love, Rosemary's Baby, and Sunday Bloody Sunday more than made up for my disappointment. This is probably the best set of announcements we've had in a while.

Also, in other news, Kino' s releasing Santa Claus Conquers the Martians on Blu-Ray.

I am 18 so you beat me by little . I think you are the youngest one in the forum. You know a lot about film for you age (I love how I am talking like I am all that older ).

I find it amusing to see they don't have a single Almodovar. So much style, if there ever was a director who perfectly embraced the "auteur" theory is probably him.

Also, I forgot to ask you something. What do you think of Heige's Weekend? It is one of those titles I am uncertain about.

Imagine if the final two months have The Life Trilogy, Week End, Wild Strawberries, Grey Gardens, Y Tu Mama Tambien, The Road Trilogy...can't recall what else.

But if all of that comes out in these last two months, that'd be utterly insane!

It's excellent! The first time I watched it, I didn't pay enough attention to it.. but once I bought the UK release, and gave it proper attention, I was impressed by it and it was one of my (many) favorites of the past year. It's not only well-made, but tells a very simple story that relies mainly on emotions, which is something other films dealing with the same issues rarely achieve. It doesn't set out to make any huge statements, but practically puts them aside, focusing on the human connection instead. Simply put, it's a very relevant film.

I find age to be largely irrelevant when it comes to art anyway. I have found that as I grow older, my interpretations differ but my previous ones are still valid.

Yami, you joined this forum when you were 12???

That seems pretty far-fetched, considering the manner you speak and comment, but so be it, I guess...
