A little off topic, but not entirely...

Anyone here watch Fringe??

I'm catching up on the episodes of the newest, and last, season. The 2nd episode of said season features Walter getting ready to bash apart a laser disc player in order to use the laser for something, and he says, before bringing his hammer down onto it, "Forgive me Criterion Collection!"

Pretty funny.

Saw this as well (I was also catching up this past weekend. My wife only wants to watch the show in blocks of 5 episodes). Gave me a good chuckle.

Re-watched "The Naked Prey" last night. Doesn't really need an upgrade as the picture quality is pretty solid, but I would still double dip if they did re-release it. An awesome film that I would gladly pay for a slight uptick in picture quality, and would love to hear the soundtrack in lossless audio.

Ack. I'm glad I checked. A bunch of Criterions were at 50% off at B&Ns site when I added them to my cart and when I went to check out, they weren't anymore.

I watched The Game yesterday and must say it is one of my favorite Criterions to date. It was a blind buy for me - so thanks to everyone that recommended it on this site!

Yes, I know. I was simply suggesting there hasn't been much clamor for it.

Prior to the essay news it showed up on the occasional wishlist and even the people posting it had something of a 'take it or leave it' attitude.

And that hasn't really changed since we got word of the essay. The buzz levels for The Blob haven't exactly reached Godzilla levels just yet.

I'm sure you spreadsheet junkies know all of this, but I tossed some more films on the shelf, and did a rough count (based on measured distance) and it looks like, including the box sets etc, there are probably about 200 spine #'s (not sure how many actual films, especially if you count extras like for "The Killing/Killer's Kiss" ) for BD now...

That is everything prior to the Nov. 13th titles of course.....

Anyone who keeps detailed info have a break-down of Films, including/excluding supplemental material, Spine #'s, Director break-downs, country, etc.. ?

So anyone able to pick up the Monterey Pop set from Best Buy for $0.99?? Long shot, but I'm gonna try to see if it's available to order if I'm at the store...

Put me down as a clamorer. Admittedly I haven't mentioned it much. An upgrade at the same time as Carnival of Souls or Fiend Without a Face (or all 3!) would be fantastic.

I have an Excel spreadsheet with all my DVDs and Blu-Rays color coded, with the actor, genre, and year it came out.

I'm in the process of re-doing it though, because it got messed up along the way and I wanted to add a few more things in there.
