Finally got The Third Man Criterion blu ray but its an original cardboard packaging. Now I see that Criterion doesn't have replacement case packaging for it for sale anymore. Anyone know why or how I could get the case packaging.

Somebody asked about this a few days ago. I've never seen it, but I've heard good things. I should probably watch a Samuel Fuller movie someday.

I just finished watching Dazed and Confused. One of the few Criterions that I saw in a theater first, and I've seen it a great many times since.

My father was a high school football head coach back in the 1970s. He used to wear the exact grey coaching shorts that the coaches in this movie wore, and he always used to tell my brother and I that we needed "attitude adjustments." I crack up so hard whenever I watch those scenes. Adam Goldberg's and Anthony Rapp's characters were probably the ones that I most resembled during my high school days. That's the thing about this movie. Do I look back fondly on my high school days? Of course. Would I go back and relive them? Hell no!

Pay another $180 to find one in the plastic case packaging?

In all seriousness, no idea. Criterion were the only ones selling them, I can't imagine why/how you'd come across someone who was just selling the plastic case on its own.

It is one of my Favs and features another great Thelma Ritter performance! She steals any film for sure. I wish it would go to HD! The DVD used to be one of my most watched noirs. you can't go wrong with the film.

Who would you guys say are some film makers comparable to Malick? I know David Gordon Green's first two features have that style, one could argue Beasts of the Southern Wild as well. There are probably a few more I can't think of right now that I've seen. Between rewatching all his films again recently and my unending anticipation for To The Wonder, I'm just craving more to tide me over.

Yeah that one is still easy to get. Chromatics and Glass Candy albums are hard to find after a while.

I would just buy their replacement clear cases and go to Kinko's or something to print out a decent quality insert in that situation.

If anyone got a percentage off coupon from B&N that they don't plan on using, I'd be very appreciative to get it. Looking to pick up some of Criterion's recent releases

The spam posts in this thread are getting crazy. Both of these are hijacked reposts from late December of original comments from regular members.

Watched The Man Who Fell To Earth last night. Ill start off by saying I dont think i'll be stressing out if I dont own the Criterion blu. Similar to Eberts opinion, I thought there were many good parts, and it was filmed well enough, but it just doesnt hold together as a whole, IMO. Glad I watched it, but thats about it.
