I definitely think it is. Especially since it's going out of print I'd ensure that you get a copy as soon as possible.

Agreed. Though I also think we'll be looking at the Gaumont restoration.

With the BFI Charulata coming out I'm assuming this would be the next Ray film released by Criterion. Of course, I could be wrong.

Thanks for the heads up...I hope so. I wouldn't mind double dipping on this. The MoC version is a nice set and that booklet with it is a monster.

I must watch it again soon, then!

Absolutely, it's one of Melville's best films & has excellent replay value i.m.o.

Ended up with a decent used copy on Amazon just recently, which I can at least be glad to just own...now watch, an entire blu boxed set will finally see the light of day after all the money I just spent...it would figure!

Wow, I've missed a lot with the holidays, packing, rental agencies trying to cash post-dated cheques long before they're supposed to, etc.

I'm good for the OOP titles at least, I own the all, and I do believe every single one came from B&N.

I'm not parting with any of them, as I actually like what I buy from Criterion, and have watched them several times. Now have 5 OOP titles from Criterion:

Leon Morin, Priest
Le cercle rouge
Army of Shadows
Last Year at Marienbad
Pierrot le fou

I recommend them all for anyone who doesn't have them, althought I was recommending Leon Morin long before it went OOP. It's technically the newest of them, as it only came out July 2011.

Nice, it's tough to find a copy in excellent/like new condition for under $30.

Ordered Le Cercle Rouge at Amazon. What are the odds of it actually shipping? Should I just try to find it locally?

A co-worker gave me his 20% off coupon as well, so I purchased Videodrome today from Barnes & Noble. Another "imperative upgrade" from my former DVD collection is under my belt.

God bless Criterion for keeping the videocassette replica case format for Videodrome from the upgrade of DVD to Blu-ray. That's a sharp-looking package that I've always loved. I watched my old DVD copy just a few months back right before I bought my Blu-ray player, but will be revisiting it in the next couple of weeks.

I sold some DVDs earlier today and used that to grab Videodrome, as well as the first two Rocky movies for a few bucks apiece from the used rack and then a new copy of Futureworld.

Oh... Incidentally, the Barnes & Noble down the street had Army of Shadows, Le Cercle Rouge, Leon Morin, Priest, and Last Year at Marienbad all in stock. Saw them as I was flipping through the titles.

Go get 'em, y'all!

Just about to watch Leon Morin, Priest. I have yet to see a bad Melville film so here's hoping this one does not disappoint.

Seems to me as though Amazon would honor their commitment to ship it to you if there were copies in stock upon your order. They usually have a notice telling people to hurry, because there are only a few copies in stock. If that notice was not on the product screen, then you're probably golden.
