It's not even his best movie of last year. Hotel Transylvania, while not amazing, was better than the shameful mess of That's My Boy.

Quickly, can only buy 1 right now on sale:

8 1/2
Being John Malko
Seventh Seal

Which one! Only have 10 min to make a decision. Either would be a blind buy.

The movie is far from what the trailer made it looked liked. They change a few things and Depp was actually good as Barnabas Collins. I am really confuse as to why to choose to make the trailer that way and made the movie look like a silly stupid comedy?

I'm with Pat. It wasn't nearly as good as I'd hoped it would be when it was announced but it wasn't nearly as dreadful as the trailers made me fear.

And I haven't seen That's My Boy, Tyler Perry's Madea Gets a Job in Witness Protection or Battleship but I have a feeling Dark Shadows wasn't quite as bad as 2012 got. If nothing else, of the 2012 films I've seen it was much better than Looper.

+1 Especially Dancer in the Dark

Speaking of Von Trier, after revisiting The Last Temptation of Christ, I revisited Antichrist. It's better than I initially gave it credit for. It may not be to everyone's liking, but I nevertheless feel Von Trier was completely genuine in making the film. Whereas Christopher Nolan's nihilism is all surface (an embossed spoon), Von Trier's is completely permeated, harsh and deeply felt.

The Seventh Seal is a must. So is 8 1/2..

But go with the former. It's far more accessible.

Flip a coin. The concensus will be 8 1/2 and Seventh Seal are masterpieces but not the best blind buys and Being John Malkovich is a great film if you like that sort of thing.

If you have any kind of gut reaction to any of them just go with that.

Witty: Being John Malkovich

For obvious reasons I wouldn't say I enjoyed Antichrist but I really, really liked it. Genuine is a excellent way to describe it. As goofy as it got - and it definitely got goofy - it never felt like the weird or surreal elements were cheap or manipulative or any of the shocking elements were there simply and solely for shock value.

I would love to see more LVT get BD releases.

Dogville would probably be my top 'new to me' choice and Element of a Crime is something I'd love to revisit on BD.

Eh, the NHL playoffs are going to start in two weeks anyway.

If I'm off probation by like July I should be fine.
