It's definitely it. One of the clues I actually knew immediately.

Now, please, just release McCabe and Mrs. Miller. That is in desperate need of a better transfer.

The exciting newsletter nugget for me may be that the beautiful L'Avventura re-release poster is for sale.

I've never seen Nashville, and it's an exciting hint (big title), but truth is Altman's The Long Goodbye has a higher pique of my interest.

I've not seen Nashville but I'm very much looking forward to it. It will also be nice to cross another AFI 100 title off the list.

That said, I would love a Criterion release of The Long Goodbye. I still find it hard to believe that Robert Altman and Elliot Gould and an almost self-consciously hip, over-the-top 60s/70s vibe could work so well with Raymond Chandler.

But it does.

How sure are we that's it's Nashville? There's something specific that links the clue to the movie?

I hope it is - I've never seen it but my wife loves it and has wanted to get a copy of it for years!

Yeah, I mean I kind of thought Nashville too, but what about the bird in the Lincoln hat makes you say Nashville?

I'm just not sure how it means Nashville.

Actually, the I've just seen the logic on CriterionForum. It's called WackyOsprey. Grand Old Osprey = Nashville

That is incredibly clever. Well, glad to hear it. We kind of knew it was coming, but it's now time to upgrade my DVD.

NASHVILLE is one of my most wanted Blu ray titles, great end of the year treat. Hopefully it will be part of November's announcements.

Thanksgiving indeed. The last time I saw it was on a VERY small screen, it'll be like seeing it for the first time.

Didn't get this newsletter, checked my spam too. In any case, very good. Wonder if it will be a box? Sure would like Gosford Park, never pulled the trigger on the Alliance (upscale?).

shortmartin, cool avatar! Harvest Moon for the win.

IMO: One of the great American films of the 20th Century.

In 2000 there was a 25th Aniversary screening at the Academy Theatre in Beverly Hills; after the screening the whole cast came out for a Q&A. We knew there would be cast members but It was beyond expectations when we saw who all showed up.

When we were leaving the theatre we noticed Curtis Hanson getting into his car parked on Wilshire Blvd.

I've never seen a Robert Altman movie, and I know absolutely nothing about Nashville, but the IMDB website description appeals to me, as does the casting.

The same corner of my psyche that loved the movies in the America Lost and Found box set will probably gravitate to Nashville.

EDIT: Wait, I take that back. I've seen Popeye. I loved it when I was ten or so.
