Barnes & Noble emailed a 20% off coupon, so I'm going to stop at the store down the street on the way home to get Dial M for Murder.

A heads-up about the coupon for some of you who might want to grab any Criterion titles that are left over from the sale.

Hear, hear. Don't want to jinx anything but I'm both appalled and surprised by Criterion's attitude towards Le Samourai. They released it on DVD, so why not on BD? Is there a rights issue that is putting the whole thing in limbo?

I got one too and the best thing is, I'm moving into my dorm Saturday and there's a B&N right on campus. May pop in and see their selection.

They're probably hoping for a better high definition restoration than the one on the French Blu-ray. As much as I love Le Samourai, I don't mind waiting longer than usual for a brilliant transfer.

There are hundreds of films Criterion hasn't upgraded to Blu-Ray yet so Le Samourai isn't a member of an exclusive club. Pathe may have released it in France but the transfer is one of the worst ever released on the format. Criterion may want to rectify the PQ issues before they upgrade it.

You know what's the worst? When Criterion's homepage has the "*insert month*'s titles have been announced!" with one or two of the new titles in the picture, and you click on the coming soon section to see that they're not up yet.

I often do the same thing. I hate when leaks start coming in and it spoils the excitement and anticipation. I think starting around 1 PM, I'm not going to even check this thread until the announcements are up!

Hey, just thought of an amazing release but it will probably never happen.

Imagine if we got the complete TV series of Twin Peaks on Criterion in a Blu-ray box set? That would blow me away.

How come Criterion doesn't release TV series by the way?

I don't think they've ever done that, though I wouldn't mind since that increases the odds of at least one of my wishlist titles coming out.
