I saw the ending of Thief on TCM one time. It was cheesy, but I had loads of fun watching it.

Everyone, I've decided something. Since I'm watching films at a slow rate, I will have a weekly reviewing show on youtube, so I'll be motivated to watch every film in my collection. Get millions of followers. Become the next Nostalgia critic. But that'll never happen. Instead I'll become a god among men.

Thanks a lot Mr. Moderator. In a way, it can be a challenge taking on ignoramuses like that person and have a debate, but its also a relief that you moderators are here to keep threads in harmony and limiting the unjustified insults to members. So thanks.

Yes, if you hadn't been reading these posts for the 10-15 minutes they were going on, you would have missed everything. I chuckled just now with your comment "looks like the dude from Seven Samurai showed and bounced someone..." HA!

Oh, the only Jean Luc that I personally like is Jean Luc Picard (not Godard).

Ha ha.

yes.. a bit campy, I suppose. I know where in Chicago, the car dealership is (was) and also the bar - the exterior shots, anyway... the car dealership or anything resembling that space is gone. there is a brick building there now.

the bar is still there and it's a very popular spot in the Uptown neighborhood.

A user by the name of "yojoeski" posted his hatred against Criterion and called the company "Crapterion" and went on a rant about how snobby they are and how their customers are as well. It was pathetic and he crashed and burned.

Well, why don't you try out Godards late works? They are truely beautiful.

I really hope Criterion gets their hands on his new project: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OL4tT...ature=youtu.be

I wonder if CC owns the rights to Aronofsky's Pi. Seems like a fitting title for them to release.

These First World Problems are killing me.

(I'm looking forward to the announcements tomorrow, though.)

Hi, I have a question for Criterion fans, if you have to choose your ultimate 3 Hitchcock movies, which ones would you pick? ( they don't have to be a criterion title )

Thanks!

Strangers on a Train

This may change tomorrow. In fact, it probably will. I really like The 39 Steps, Rebecca, North by Northwest, and The Birds as well.

I think Pi has been a rumor title for a while now.

Notorious, Vertigo and Dial M for Murder (though I really prefer the first two and can't decide on a third that I like nearly as much)

Alfred Hitchcock is my favorite director of all time, and my admiration for his work increased tenfold this year as I've watched the classic movies in high definition for the first time. I've got all 24 Hitchcock films that are available on Region A Blu-ray.

Even the "second tier" Hitchcock flicks (Torn Curtain, Topaz, Frenzy, Family Plot) are brilliant in my book.

As such, it's almost impossible for me to choose just three of his films.
