Persona is the best cover I've seen since 2008.

I may just have to buy it directly from Criterion to show my support. Cannot wait for this one!

My exact concern...

And yes, "Ikiru" is incredible... In my Top 5 Films of All Time, and my very favorite Kurosawa film.

So I opened my copy of Band of Outsiders tonight and the disc has some weird oily looking rings all around the bottom of it (they do not come off and are not wet) and the normal text ring around the disc is really out of place. Anyone else ever experience this? I took some pics, figured it would be hard to describe.

I love the cover art for The Freshman, The Hidden Fortress, and Persona.

Fantastic announcement! Persona, The Hidden Fortress, and The Great Beauty are on my list now. I haven't seen the others, but I can genuinely say that I'm interested in all of them. Has anyone seen A Brief History of Time?

2014 is on to an excellent start. I can't even imagine what's going to be unveiled in the New Years newsletter.

You can't please all the people all the time, but this news is the most pleased I've been with Criterion news in quite a while.

Persona is hands-down my favorite Bergman film, rivaled only by Fanny & Alexander.

The Great Beauty is easily in my top ten favorites of this year.

A Brief History of Time isn't my favorite Errol Morris film by a long shot, but it's decent and I'll absolutely support buying it on Blu-ray to encourage more of his work showing up down the line.

Based off of Criterion's description, it looks like The Freshman, The Great Beauty, and Persona will be DigiPacks.

Since I am of the opinion that Safety Last! is a hilarious film...perhaps the most outright funny title in the entire Collection, in fact...I'm quite pleased about this announcement for The Freshman. The cover art in itself leads me to believe that this one will have the same frequent replay value as Safety Last!.

In other news, Raro is releasing Antonioni's I vinti in May.

I've yet to see it, but exciting news!

They're 3 disc releases. They tend to get the digipack treatment.

It is inspired by the official Cannes poster See here:

Liv & Ingmar, a 2012 feature documentary directed by Dheeraj Akolkar

I just noticed this is a supplement to Persona instead of a separate release. Very nice! I really wanted to see it.
