ahh... ok. got it now. thanks, Octagon! as for the other stuff, I don't have a Panasonic blu-ray player. interesting though

Two more obscure titles in the collection I have been eying for a while are "White Material" and "Sweetie". I wanted to explore more female directors in the collection and thought this would be a good place to start. I have heard some discussion before about White Material, but I never knew Sweetie was in the collection until yesterday.

Anybody have any thoughts or feelings about these films?

I've only watched White Material once and my reactions were positive across the board but I can't say it made a huge impact.

I liked it, I thought it was well made and I was interested enough afterwards to dip into the supplements but it kind of slipped into 'out of sight, out of mind' mode after that.

That said, any mention of Claire Denis does tend to catch my eye now.

Thank you. That's so refreshing from the dull, sinking feeling of "O-KAY! Ya GOT yer freakin' Life freakin' Aquatic already! Now shaddup and drink your Evian!"

(sigh) If only it WAS vintage Connery, but I'll gladly take Almovadar over.....you know--The stinky guy.

I, too, thought at first that the Life Aquatic fans were finally going to get their grail. But that screen image too closely resembles the drawing. Almodovar it must be!

Almodovar finally entering the collection is excellent, Tie Me Up! Time Me Down! is one of my favourites.

Oh my! I didn't put this one together, but I love that film. Probably my favorite Almodovar next to Talk To Her.

Pedro Almodovar in the collection is just Heaven sent! I want a box set.

But I'd take Life Aquatic too!

Great news to see Almodovar entering the Collection. I've seen Broken Embraces, The Skin I Live In, and Volver and loved them.

I'll admit, I first thought the clue was for TLAWSZ and I was happy because people could finally stop begging for it, but I am content either way!

You can buy them directly from Criterion on their site. Other options might include eBay or one of the other sites that sells cases might have them.
