All bluray:

3:10 to Yuma
Seventh Seal
Godzilla
12 Angry Men
Hidden Fortress pre order
And Django
$110.70 is the total...

I may get more depending on my check. Looking at Red Shoes, Stagecoach and Jules & Jim but would all be blind buys.

It's a great site. I just ordered the Serpico Blu-ray and another title on there a few days ago.

Thank you very much for posting this! I have never ordered from them before, but just ordered Hidden Fortress and Safety Last. You deserve a commision.

Agreed, I've been buying from them off and on dating back to my heavy DVD purchasing days in the late 90s and early 2000s as well. Free shipping on orders over $25 - not the fastest but they have tracking and it will get there. Very reliable.

Good news!

Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman arrived today in perfect condition, less than one day after Amazon sent me the shipping notice.

I already had the nine-disc Elite case that I ordered from Casetopia last week after ordering this Zatoichi set, so I put all of the Zatoichi Blu-rays into that case. Since the stickers on the box set peeled right off of the shrinkwrap, I adhered both of them to the nine-disc case.

I highly recommend that owners of the Zatoichi set fork out a few dollars for one of these nine-disc Elite cases. The Blu-rays in the digipak were dug in like Alabama ticks, and it took some careful maneuvering to get a few of them out. Housing the Blu-ray discs inside the Elite case will prevent me from having to hassle with the digibook each time I watch some of the movies.

Deep Discount has decent sales BUT (there is a but) they use DHL (Like their other half, ImportCDs) so expect your packages to sit for days on end without ever moving.

My last order from Deep Discount took almost 14 days to get to me from KY. I guess they felt the need to have a small infant drag it across state lines to get it here.

I changed cases as soon as possible. All that $ for a set and the discs are more likely to get damaged by the packing than to protect them from damage!

I've honestly never used them...but for the price I'll give them a shot. I also threw in Slumber Party Massacre (only $16.03). Here's to hoping for the best.

Semi-related story. I got my Zatoichi set last week and it was packaged (by Amazon) by itself in a fairly small cardboard box. I used a box cutter to cut the tape as I am wont to do and the package was apparently filling up the entire box because the box cutter sliced through the packing tape and the shrink wrap around the package. Opened it up and I'll be damned if it didn't slightly cut the package as well. It didn't actually "break" the surface or anything but if you hold it up to the right light you can see a line.

Now if it was any other set I might be a little annoyed at this (but I'm not super anal retentive about perfect packaging so I wouldn't have sent it back or anything) but seeing how this is the complete set of movies of the blind SWORDSMAN, I think it's perfect! It looks like Zatoichi himself has "autographed" my box set!

Yeah, it's hilarious to track their packages. I swear they hit 20 states on the way to Texas.

Deep Discount always delivers to me faster than amazon with cheaper shipping all the way from the USA to NZ. In fact Amazon UK is faster and cheaper to get here than Amazon US aswell.

My copy of Benjamin Button didn't include a booklet. Is that normal? Could I even get ahold of Criterion and get one?

They still haven't replied to my email about the missing booklet in Blow Out. :-/

I have close to no money right now, but I plan on buying one or two of these films. But I can't decide which one I should grab. Any recommendations?

- Throne of Blood
- Rashomon
- Following
- Thief

I don't have excessive state hopping, I have the "DHL won't ship a package out of their facility in less than 7 days" problem. They stopped residential delivery services (I believe) in the US but still do some transit work and let the PO's finish it up, but international DHL is still very big, Probably explains why they do international so well.

The rest of the world keeps them in business so their payback to us US people who didn't support them enough is to screw with our packages I think.

I've never seen Following, but I own the other 3.

Thief is my choice out of those 4.

Own and love all 4. Rashomon is the most "essential" and "important" film.

If you like other Kurosawa period/samurai films you will like Throne of Blood.

I don't know that I would buy Following or Thief blind. If you like Memento, you'll probably enjoy Following. If you like Manhunter and Miami Vice (the TV show) you will LOVE Thief.
