Smells suspiciously like ad-targeting.

I wish Criterion included a copy of the cover art inside case so you can frame it - just bluray size not like The Che poster.

Would be ace... Lol

Seriously, I like all of Bergman's work, but I think Wild Strwberries may have wider appeal than some.
okay, bry.. I took your advice. I intended to start up Stray Dog during my lunch hour, but forgot the disc at home. so I proceeded to sign up for Hulu and watched the first half of Wild Strawberries. Not finished yet, but I am fairly certain that this will be my favorite Bergman of the 4.

I love
[Show spoiler]the dream sequence at the beginning of the film and I also really like the husband and wife they pick up after the near accident. I haven't figured out how it plays into the whole picture yet, but very interesting in and of itself.

good stuff!

Wild Strawberries is one of the most moving films I have ever seen.

By the time the ending came around, I was in tears.

half way through, the CC film it reminds me the most of is Ikiru and that film just tore me apart. obviously in a good way since I have that as my avatar and my #1 ranked CC film.

The clue in the new Criterion newsletter might be their easiest one yet.

For me, The Seventh Seal is actually my least favourite of the Bergmans I've seen so far (I've seen all the Criterion blus except Persona, The Magician, Autumn Sonata, and F&A).

Yes! Been hoping they'd upgrade that one. Probably the most haunting ending I've ever seen.

The Great Owl will be happy.

I was wondering if anyone had figured it out. I had no clue. It's definitely The Vanishing though. Now that someone mentioned it, it's pretty clear that's what it will be.

Really looking forward to The Vanishing, even thou its without a doubt the most depressing film Ive ever seen. I felt like shit afterwards. You definitely need a feel-good film after that one. That being said its one hell of a film.

Hell to the yeah! This has always been one of my top ten Criterion titles.

I was just revisiting my Criterion DVD a couple months back and thinking how cool this movie would be in high definition.

I cannot wait to read what those of you who haven't yet seen it think about this film when it comes out.

(I'm late to the reaction posts today, because I had the afternoon off of work and decided to see a certain Scarlett Johansson film that shouldn't be discussed here for the second time at the theater. It's been a long time since I've made two trips to the theater to see the same movie twice within a week.)
