Oh my that is a great idea! - Its a definitely a set that everyone should own, even if it is DVD and lacks supplements, just such a shame Criterion had to make it OOP and shame they didn't do in bluray.

It made my day too.

I even had to post "David Lynch on watching movies on a telephone" with the Youtube link on my Facebook page.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but it's worth mentioning. Hiroshima, Mon Amour is getting a 4K theatrical run in October.

I'd imagine this would tour at cinematheques with a blu-ray release 3-6 months later? It's one of my favorites and I'd love to see it on the big screen.

I'd like to give it another try on the big screen. If your logic is right, SOJr, we should have Alphaville, too... from someone... hopefully.

But wow its incredible, even if the are DVD's the packaging is incredible - got a few of the films on Bluray so got this more for the OOP side of it and plus its a brilliant director.

Also can watch some of the DVDs I don't own the book is beautiful too - weird size but amazing
I would be happy to get this for the "OOP-ness" if I could spare the cash. But at least on these shores, every film in the set is available on DVD by some label, and I have most of them.

Now Criterion should release this on BD and DVD as it never had an American DVD and BD release, animation fans and sci-fi fans and the film's fans want this one.

Let's write to Criterion to put Gandahar aka Lightyears on BD and have some decent extras including a new restoration with both English and French in subtitles language and uncut too.

I really enjoyed Blithe Spirit, although I didn't love it as much, and haven't gotten around the other two yet.

Ahh, darn. I wish I had known. I had to watch this film in one of my classes this semester (about Road Movies) and I fell in love with it. I can't wait to own it.

Just finished watching a documentary called Streetwise. It's a about runaway/homeless kids in Seattle, in the early 80s and it is without a doubt one of the best documentaries i've ever seen. Unfortunately the film can only be seen on VHS or through an online streaming source. I would love it, if Criterion could get the rights to this film and release it. Just curious if anyone else has seen it?

I saw Streetwise on HBO way back in the 1980s when I was in high school. I don't remember much about the movie, except that I liked the idea that the poverty-stricken kids had about ordering a pizza that nobody else would eat because of the strange ingredients, and then waiting for the pizza parlor to toss the unclaimed pizza in the dumpster before taking it.
