Same here, except replace Tootsie with the Hellman double.

Nicholson worked with Antonioni on The Passenger. Is The Passanger finally getting the blu ray treatment?!
I would think if they were they would have saved this special feature for that release.

It's because the films are on separate discs on DVD, so they have unique numbers in that format and the spine numbering has to stay consistent on Blu-ray.

De Sica, a new Godard, Bunuel, Malle, Ray... tons of directors have had nothing announced in the time we got the whole kit and caboodle from Antonioni.

again, folks.. have fun. I'm glad that's out of the way though.

I'm definitely in for L'Avventura, It Happened One Night, and Tootsie. I'll watch the Monte Hellman films on Amazon Instant Video, as they are available for free and I don't really like his films, and I'll try to track down Les Blank on some other video streaming website so that I don't have to buy it, as it seems like something I wouldn't enjoy.
Hah I just got this on PS4 and its so addictive :P!

Was wondering where you was though haha!

Wow! Great month! Not as amazing as last November, but an awesome month. Most excited for It Happened One Night.

I was hoping for Louis Malle's Elevator to The Gallows or maybe a Noir. I need to watch more Antionini, so I'm glad they're releasing another one of his films.

Yeah, this is my second playthrough on the PS4 version and I agree. My favorite game of the decade.

Also, I can't believe this month. October was killer, I think November is my favorite month based off of L'Avventura alone. Ahhhhh!!!!

Saw this on the Criterion website

Nobody has added The Shooting/Ride in the Whirlwind to a list yet.
I know it means that nobody has posted or added The Shooting/Ride in the Whirlwind on to their list. But I find it kind of ironic that The Shooting has made it on to the list of Dead Man's 'Nobody's' Damn, if this isn't omen that I should pay my respects to the Acid Western sub genre, then I don't what is.

Looks like a viewing of Dead Man and another reading of Blood Meridian is in order.

Another strong month. Capra, Pollack, Anotnioni, but not as good as October lineup.

Hear Hear on blu ray... I will still keep the Capra set as there are still treasures that haven't gotten a blu ray release yet

Twilight Time has a better slate of films coming for November.
Tootsie is one of the most respected Modern Hollywood Comedies. It is #2 behind Some Like it Hot on AFI's top 100 Comedies of all time. There is a reason everyone is excited about it, it is a magnificent film.

Tootsie is better than 1/4 of the films Criterion has released.

if it is as revered as you say, I'd imagine that it's original studio would have released the movie.

Do you guys think La Notte, L'Ecclisse and L'Aventura would have been nicer released a boxset?

Eh, I don't really care. A little box case or not, they're all on Blu. I'm happy.

Heads-up that the following Les Blank films are on Hulu.

01. The Blues Accordin’ to Lightnin’ Hopkins (1968)
02. God Respects Us When We Work, but Loves Us When We Dance (1968)
03. Spend It All (1971)
04. A Well Spent Life (1971)
05. Dry Wood (1973)
06. Always for Pleasure (1978)
07. Garlic Is as Good as Ten Mothers (1980)
08. The Maestro: King of the Cowboy Artists (1994)

That just leaves the following films to be seen through another source.

01. Hot Pepper (1973)
02. Sprout Wings and Fly (1983)
03. In Heaven There Is No Beer? (1984)
04. Gap-Toothed Women (1987)
05. Yum, Yum, Yum (1990)
06. Sworn to the Drum (1995)
