Almost certainly I’d say. I imagine they would like to wait a bit since Studiocanal just announced the 4K release, though.

I stopped buying from the Amazon UK, it made it not worth it.

I have yet to watch THE LAST COMMAND, but the other two titles have definite repeat value for me. Von Sternberg was such a master visionary with his films that there is always something new to see. Whenever dopes dismiss silent movies because they claim they are so archaic, they have obviously never seen any by Lang, Hitchcock, Murnau, Vidor and Von Sternberg. Their films are often as arresting and alluring as anything done nearly a century later. Plus-and I know people tend to scoff at this-I'm convinced that nothing shows off your home theater more than a well restored silent film on Blu. They are stunning!

So the list I have is:

American Factory
Atlantics
Coffee and Cigarettes
The Man Who Wasn’t There
Memories of a Murder
and the Wong Kar-wai box set

Anything else somewhat confirmed?
"She's Gotta Have It" was mentioned by either the DP or the editor, but they've had two seasons of a TV show since then and nothing further has been mentioned.
Soderbergh has been talking about "Kafka" going to Criterion even longer than that.

Criterion doesn't play around. My order already shipped.

Now, if only Scream Factory would follow suit. Would have loved to have gotten my horror order in time for Halloween, but I'll be lucky to get it by Christmas.

Kafka wouldn’t surprise me if it happened sooner rather than later. I saw recently where Soderbergh said during quarantine he re-edited Kafka, Schizopolis, and Full Frontal, so who knows, maybe those all get releases eventually.

Is "Full Frontal" shorter than the theatrical cut or the extended cut that was released on Bluray? It's weird that he just keeps tinkering with that movie.

...and I'd say THE LAST COMMAND is the strongest in the box (or in his entire filmography perhaps)!

I believe he mentioned this new re-edit is shorter than the theatrical cut.

Is Full Frontal the one starring Jeffrey Toobin?

Thanks for the input. I ended up not pulling the trigger this time as I’m planning a large-ish (for me) Kino order. I’m hoping that those films get shown on the Criterion Channel soon. I may still pick it up in the next B&N sale, or the spring flash sale.

I’m with you on the silent films. There are some brilliant films that don’t feel a bit dated made before talkies came out.

Few I'd like to get a remaster from Criterion or someone else and which I think they would easily find an audience:

Two Frank Perry movies, "Last Summer"(1969) and "Play It As It Lays"(1972),

Millenium Mambo(2001), Russian Ark(2002), Giant(1953), "The Miracle At St Morgan's Creek"(1943),

Frederick Wiseman documentaries

Side-Note: Has anyone here ever experienced a defective disc?? What would happen if it was defective?

Criterion has proven quite generous in assisting those with defective discs - usually by sending a replacement (incredibly, sometimes even to people who have purchased used discs on eBay, etc.).

The most notable issue has been "bronzing" on a handful of the earlier BD release. It's well-documented, so you can easily find details if it's of interest.

The Last Command is one of the top 5 silents that I have watched and maybe in my top 10 of all films.
