Seems like Amazon pricematch only for newer titles and box sets as well. I wonder if they do any older Blu-rays so I can pick up 400 Blows perhaps.

I would say those are all "beginner titles" for a budding cinephile.
All great titles, I add another silent for those who are new to the genre and that's Buster Keaton's The Cameraman.

He relented and "tried" to apply the discount, but the screen wouldn't let him and I wasn't going to rake him over the coals for a manual override.

I was given a number for corporate to call, but I doubt that's going to result in a damn thing. Disgusting, IMO, for a brick and mortar chain on the verge of obsolescence. Instead of walking out with 7 (for now), I rang up 2. Thus ends splurging and my relationship with B&N.
You should have done a better job at reading the fine print.

Doesn't matter how it's printed, peewee. I renewed my membership for like the 12th time in July before such "fine print" was rendered, which exactly what my beef with B&N is.

So just to be clear, B&N is not giving the 10% membership discount for in-store purchases?

I've been mostly contented by Netflix thankfully having many of them on Blu-ray. But there are many I've only seen on DVD. I will keep waiting for a boxset. I think my Kurosawa watch count is at like 24, bigger than any other director.

Was here thinking a 172 dollars wasn't too bad for this sale. Then I remembered Fellini, which put me over 300. Damn.

I treated the guy with respect, since I'm an adult and know that the directive didn't come from him personally.

The hard fact though is that he and others in his position are going to bear the brunt of customers' frustrations.

Seen all of those except To Be Or Not to Be. All very good.

I'm not sure I'd recommend Paths of Glory, though, considering that Kubrick has had such good representation on Ultra HD. The UHD would be had cheaper than Criterion's disc and would come with a Blu-ray anyway.

If you have any preference in that regard, you can follow your gut. Seriously, though, both are great classic westerns.

I also have both, but I would have to give the nod to Stagecoach. It really put Wayne on the map and it has some artistic flourishes that Destry doesn't have. Both are fantastic though.

Between B&N no longer shipping to Canada (COVID-related?) and Unobstructed View having regular price on pre-orders, I guess I'm saving 200+ bucks this month!

Not sure if shared yet, but Amazon has nice coupons for the Police Story set and Roma. Just ordered them.

But wouldn't they be able to look up your membership using your phone number? I always do that and get my 10% off at B&N every time.

Before I order, can anyone give me a quick summation of Parasite's release? I thought I once read there was something wrong with it, or it was a cut version, that Criterion was gonna release? Is there any reason not to get it if I have the regular bluray?

Had nothing to do with not being able to pull my membership...it's that B&N has mandated it inapplicable towards this sale, as every other member has attested to.
