Nice slate of March announcements. The Wong Kar-Wai box set stands out to me and I might try and sell my out of print blu-ray of Chungking Express asap to get my money's worth! (although its probably too late now).

No mention of the commentary on the press release. You could still get a good amount for it.

I'm super-stoked about Defending Your Life. With that said, I'm not in love with the cover art. Yes, it's basically a variation of the original theatrical poster, which I'd be happy about from any other company - since most of them use terrible "floating head" covers instead of the original poster art - but I was hoping for something more artistic from Criterion.

Still, the cover could be Albert Brooks bending over and mooning everyone, and I'd still get it. It's the best movie not only of Albert Brooks' career but also Meryl Streep and and Rip Torn's.

Just in case Criterion reads this... I want The Bad Sleep Well on blu-ray. I was pretty shocked to find a Kurosawa movie that doesn't have a North American blu-ray release.

I don’t remember it being all that bad, but if someone has a problem seeing animals being killed or slaughtered I wouldn’t recommend it. And then I would recommend never, under any circumstances, watching The Tree of Wooden Clogs.

because AFAIK the only Shout! Region B title that they have released is the MST3K kickstarter season, & even then, the original was RA, it was only after backers campaigned on KS that they got a Region B release

Studio Canal has the 3rd largest film library

Outside France, the British Isles, Australia, New Zealand and Central Europe, StudioCanal does not have a formal distribution unit per se, instead relying on other distribution studios and home video distributors to handle their titles

This film is only available in the UK in the Masters of Cinema line & in Germany
