I might be late here but did anyone notice that Janus tweeted out about the Mirror from Tarkovsky?
If that's the case, then a Criterion release should be in line for 2021

I popped in Seven Samurai just to get a quick look at it, and man, that transfer is gorgeous. It's always so cool to see old movies get cleaned up and look presentable. Excited to see the other Blu-rays I got too.

You've gotten me curious. Do they send a "naked" disc, or just slap a label with just the title, the Criterion logo, and a copyright notice; or some such?

Hmm. That's interesting. I wonder if Criterion was able to fully crack the Lionsgate code for more than a single picture. It would be nice to see something like Shadow of the Vampire get the Criterion treatment.

They might, if they kept any unsold copies around just for that purpose. It's a long shot, though. Whether they would legally be able to do so would, I would think, depend on what their licensing contract says about replacing defective copies vs selling new copies of titles they lose the rights to.

Mine was in a group of titles that had the bronzing issue. I think if I remember correctly titles that were in-print came with a brand new copy. At the time I had sent in Pierrot le Fou which was OOP and I got lucky that they sent me a copy of the re-issued version.

Howard's End was sent in a protected envelope and was just the Criterion official disc.

What’s the box containing Girlfriends, Moonstruck and Ghost Dog? I know they’re consecutive spine numbers, but know of no other connection.

I assume it’s one you made.

There seems to be a lot of controversy surrounding the new WKW masters, due to pronounced changes in colour gradings, as well as a few missing scenes from Happy Together. I'm on the fence about whether to preorder.

News to me. I need to buy more Tarkovsky and I have never seen but the first scene or 2 to Mirror...definitely on my list. I'll keep an eye out for it.

It looks like the Whit Stillman trilogy box to me.

Oddly, it looks like the outer box for the Whit Stillman Trilogy.

I hope so. They have tweeted about other films that I got excited for but have never been added, like Eyes Wide Shut

Someone posted at the Criterion Forum that they know someone working on a special feature for Mirror and that " he has until early February to finish it for the 2021 release schedule."

Curious to see if we'll get your annual Criterion hint. The artist has passed away since then, and the hints have kind of gone away since then, but still hopeful. Those are always something fun for us so we can guess at upcoming titles.

Its the non-spine ordered Stillman box. I took all the individual movies out of it to place the 3 films in correct spine order. I put whatever the latest 3 spines are in it to keep the newest row propped up.

The Mirror is awesome. I have the Artificial Eye (UK) edition, but seems like a Criterion has been expected for a while given the other Tarkovsky films they've released. Sounds like some new extras in the works, and hopefully will include an improved master versus the AE disc as well. Definitely a double-dip candidate!
