Plain brown boxes with (from memory) the shipping label indicating a return address for "Alliance Entertainment" in KY.

Unfortunately, no, but note the partnership with Unobstructed View:

Canadian Shipping

We ship our orders to Canada via DHL Express. You must agree to our shipping terms and conditions before finalizing your order. If you would like to save on shipping and potential import costs, we've partnered exclusively with Unobstructed View in Canada and encourage you to order from them directly at unobstructedview.com

Ships via DHL Express.
Flat rate of $23.00 USD

In-stock items usually arrive in 3 to 5 business days, depending on customs clearance.
The cost above covers trackable shipping. It does not include any import taxes, customs duties, fuel surcharges, or brokerage fees levied by Canadian customs, which DHL collects from the recipient at the time of delivery. As we are unable to determine what these fees may be you will be responsible for payment to DHL in order to receive your items.
Please note, we do not ship to PO Boxes in Canada. If you enter a PO Box address, we will need to contact you and cancel your order. If you need to ship to a Canadian P.O. Box, please place your order with unobstructedview.com.

Working my way through it now, in batches of three. I loved the first three, thought 4 and 5 were OK, 6 was interestingly different in style, 7 - 9 were great. That's it so far - but really enjoying it.

Here's a question for those who have completed it - can you read the booklet essay before the finish, or does it contain spoilers?

Okay yeah that's what I figured. I'm still gonna go with Criterion's flash sale, because with the gift cert, it brings shipping to $13 (which is worth it considering this is getting shipped via DHL). Plus all titles will be $19.99 USD. Even with the exchange rate that's a killer deal. Criterions here are like $40 CAD.

Unobstructed View sometimes does the Criterion sale. Blus come out to $20-30. Depends on the title. (Also of note, that's in Canadian dollars)
And the shipping isn't awful.

So I say check out the site when the Flash sale happens. They usually do it day of too, or day after. Even sometimes extending the sale (which is dangerous )

Good to know. However, I just checked Unobstructed View's website and lol literally every title on my wish list that I plan on getting today (other than Night and the City) is currently out of stock and on backorder. Gonna go with Criterion on this one I think.

If they do plan on matching Criterion's sale they don't have anything in stock.

Browsing through Kanopy, I noticed Criterion has Of Mice and Men (1939) listed in their collection, and the thumbnail art has a C in the corner. Has this film already been reported to be in the CC???

I was interested in this set, too. I started watching the series on the Criterion Channel and stopped after the fifth one because I decided I was going to buy it. I figured 50% off is $100, which breaks down to 5 good movies at $20 a piece which is reasonable. At that point the other 20 movies are a bonus!

So this is my first Criterion sale that I'm *attempting* to take part in.
Should I be expecting a bloodbath?

Yes. Email confirmation (that not everyone seems to have received).
Criterion sent the $10 code to subscribers of the Channel.
Criterion's social media gave their normal cryptic hint (this time a picture of Bob Dylan holding the sign "LOOK OUT!").

Less than an hour away, for sure.

The Arrow UHD looks amazing to my eyes. I'd hold off. You can always grab the Criterion BD on a different flash sale if you need to.
