Too bad half the items I was looking for aren't on sale.
I really wanted Harakiri, Kwaian and Throne of Blood but they were still full pop.
They did say they are going to update titles in the next hour but I think that's for newer titles.

Still ended up getting The Ascent, Rashomon, Ghost Dog and The Samurai Trilogy.

Partially - preorders that release during the sale date will be 50% at the beginning of the sale. Preorders released after the announced end date usually aren't though there have been a few exceptions/glitches and occasionally a manager override

Yes - I ordered what they had on my list and filled the rest on USA site. I am happy with that. I haven't bought Criterion titles exclusively ever before so as a virgin, I am excited.

Super annoyed that Zatoichi seems like it only had 1 copy up for sale, but managed to snag these. Had a bunch of gift cards so nothing paid out of pocket.

Oh boy what a mess that was. I also had several duplicates in my cart that took forever to figure out, during which In a Lonely Place sold out, which I’m super annoyed by. Whatever. Managed to grab: Forty Guns, The Philadelphia Story, Klute, Le samourai, Night and the City, The Asphalt Jungle, Pierrot le fou and Band of Outsiders. Pretty happy with those choices. Forty Guns is a blind buy and that Fuller doc in the extras looks really good.

I received my first $50 gift certificate. I don’t see it saved anywhere on criterion.com. If I lose the email I’m screwed?

You also want to get your movies sometime this century, something they will never be able to guarantee. Even if you order something that claims to be in stock theres a good chance one of the items you bought could be "backordered" by the time your order ships.
Buying from them is a waste of time.
