Default criterion...

Really excited for FISH TANK (2/22) and still can't wait for ANTICHRIST and PATHS OF GLORY (asked for for christmas)... Have listened to a few commentaries over time (particularly DO THE RIGHT THING's commentary with Spike Lee and various crew - as well as Joie Lee (this was reproduced on the 20th Anniversary Edition from Universal)...

I would love to see Criterion re-release SID & NANCY (1986) on DVD and Blu-Ray! I have a homemade DVD copy of the Criterion version but it's not the same

I'm 32 years old, and couldn't imagine asking any member of my family for "Antichrist" for Christmas..... actually, the irony of receiving Antichrist as a Christmas gift is pretty amusing in itself....

Antichrist is one of those movies that I can't wait to watch again, but at the same time, it's one of those movies I need to watch at a time where there is no chance my wife will even walk into the room, for fear of the "Why did you buy this" conversation

UNEXPECTED Surprise!

My BBS set was shipped by B & N today!

One to three days would get it to me by Friday at the very latest (no delivery on Thanksgiving). UPS tracking has it listed as "3 DAY SELECT"

I think I've got a chance at getting it by Wednesday, as I'm pretty close to their warehouse in NJ...we'll see.

Dangit!
I've wanted that for a while, completely slipped my mind.
Should have picked it up during the B&N sale with the library link.
Oh well.

Does anyone know if Benjamin Button is still shipping with the slipcover? I hate how it is not in a Criterion case.

Thanks

I managed to get a couple Eclipse series ordered at like 3am, and I still managed to get the sale price.

I picked up Delirious Fictions of William Klein and Dusan Makavejev : Free Radical.

These will actually be my first Eclipse series, and I kinda randomly chose them based off what was the cheapest, and a very quick skim on criterion.com to read the summaries and everything.

The ones I've seen in stores recently (B&N in particular) all have the slipcase. Of course, how long they've been sitting on the shelf is up for debate. Unless any given store (online or otherwise) is specifically taking them off, I think they'll be coming with the slipcase.

Oh, jeez... you're in for quite the treat. I'm a Makavejev fan, so I hope you find enjoyment in those three films. A lot of people seem to place his "Sweet Movie" and "WR: Mysteries of the Organism" in the same league as "Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom." I don't see it, though. The only film in the set that might be a bit off-kilter is "Innocence Unprotected." The other two are pretty straight-forward films, though.

The only Klein film I've watched in the set so far is "Mr. Freedom," which I watched for the 4th of July this year. So, I still need to give the other two discs a spin.

Also in that price range, you should've also considered the Chantel Akerman set and the Sam Fuller set. Maybe, next time.

Today I just now got an e-mail saying Sherlock Jr is delayed (no crap). Took a week to tell me that, plus now have to wait up to 30 more days. I was thinking of ordering it somewhere else, but can't find it cheaper and in stock anywhere. Either it's cheaper and out of stock (DVDempire) or in stock, but more (Bestbuy, Amazon, etc). So I'll sit on this unless a Black Friday deal comes from another site.

I don't understand why it's out of stock. I seem to be the only person on the internet that wanted this out of all the releases last Tuesday.

Try Borders. Use 33% off coupon code BXJ8697R, to drop it down to 20.76+tax. 3-8 day shipping will cost around 3 dollars or ship to store for free.

Thanks, I have been trying to place an order, but the site keeps going out. So I'll keep trying. But thanks.

When taking advantage of The BN sale my only reall aim was to get Seven Samurai.
But I ended up buying 4 other movies as well.

Now, all 4 movies are sent except Seven Samurai, which expected shipping estimate is delayed till Dec 6th.

Coclusion: I will never deal with their sale ever again. I will just go grab the movie tomorow myself from a retail stor and pay full price of 50$.

Seriously?
You're that impatient that you'd rather spend an extra $25 to get it two weeks earlier?
Also, why not just buy the movie at a retail B&N store location DURING the sale and still get it half off...it wasn't an online only sale...

I don't think they had the same sale in Canada.
