The source is direct from Criterion, Jon Mulvaney, who communicates with customers about titles and stock. Someone wrote to him and heard back. This was posted over on the Criterion Forum.

An email I just got. I had emailed them on Monday about seven Paramount titles that were showing up as unavailable (I forgot to include The Friends of Eddie Coyle on the list I sent. So I'm not sure of its status.)

I'm sure he's now going to get bombarded with questions about the other Paramount licensed titles. Let's see if we hear anything concrete.

But it's still not cool that we seemingly didn't know anything at all (from Criterion's end) about this recent wave of OOPs.

Ha, I bought it last night on BN.com at full price b/c I was afraid it was going OOP. BN was the only online retailer I could find that had stock and ebay sellers had already jacked up prices. Oh well, at least I can return it and repurchase later during a sale. Glad it isn't OOP!

My criterion blu-ray of Le Cercle Rouge freezes at the same spot. I also have the former OOP Pierrot Le Fou blu-ray and that freezes as well. I have bronzing on blu-rays of M and Stagecoach. I'm thinking of contacting criterion and asking for disc replacements as well.

Everyone who has issues with Le Cercle Rouge should contact Mulvaney at Criterion. AFAIK, they usually replace OOP discs.

I sold my copy of Le Cercle Rouge on eBay shortly before Christmas but made sure beforehand it wasn't defective, and it wasn't thankfully. It's a shame to hear the issue is so widespread.

What's the current confirmed OOP list?

I need to check my copies of le circle rouge and Howard’s end but I think they are both still sealed...

Thanks for the information on Medium Cool - I ordered this earlier from DeepDiscount on backorder so I may just see if it gets filled or cancel for the next BN sale.

By the way, I was wondering if it would possible to take an inventory of Sony-pressed Criterion releases that have been prone to known defects/problems. I know of Le Cercle Rouge, Solaris, The Lady Vanishes, and The Phantom Carriage. I've heard a few murmurs about 12 Angry Men, as well. Any others? Sony-pressed copies of M, Lola Montes, Summer Hours et al. weren't prone to defects as far as I'm aware.

My copies of Red Desert and Vivre Sa Vie seem slightly off. The former is fine cosmetically, but takes an oddly long time to load on a computer(no issues in a set-top box player). The same is true of the latter (long loading time on computer but no set top box issues). However, my Vivre Sa Vie is a bit odd-looking. There's no bronzing/peeling. It's just rougher than normal around the edge.
I'm just bumping something I posted before, since it likely got drowned, but I just wanted to know which Criterions pressed at Sony are known to have issues. I know of Le Cercle Rouge, The Lady Vanishes, Solaris, The Phantom of Carriage, and one or two others. Anything else? As for M, Howards End, and Summer Hours, among a few others, I think it was only the ones pressed at Sonopress that were problematic. I don't think the Sony-pressed copies from that latter batch of titles are known to have issues, but I could be wrong.

Thank you. Quoting for keeping the list near the top of the bumps.
Does this mean the fellini boxset is OOP?
