From the OOP titles mentioned, I never really had any interest in The Man Who Knew Too Much (original) and The Lady Vanishes...until the I saw the artwork again. I love the art deco of the former most of all. Maybe I'll try to track it down, but I won't be too sad if I don't, after all I never had any interest either movie. There is plenty Hitchcock I never saw, and also that is in my to-watch pile.
Even if they get reissued by someone other than Criterion, I don't think they will match those stunning artworks. |

The box set that contains those two as well as Foreign Correspondent and The 39 Steps is OOP, but it's just the bundle box, the individual titles aren't effected. |

I’m aware but if the original is on disc the sequel deserves to be too, same with Coming 2 America.

I do think it is safe to assume that MoC's Nashville Blu-ray will be going OOP sooner rather than later. |

So, no earthquakes, just a lot of hot air.

Per Mulvaney, Eddie Coyle is not going out of print. It will be restocked, as will Medium Cool. Here are the six now out of print Paramount titles: La Dolce Vita Rosemary’s Baby Don’t Look Now Harold and Maude Nashville Days of Heaven No other titles are scheduled to go OOP anytime soon. And yes, La Dolce Vita will continue to be included in the Fellini set. It appears Criterion only lost the license to distribute the film individually. |

![]() I saw DLN once a few years back and didn't really think much of it. It stuck w/ me enough to want to revisit it, though. When a film that I thought I didn't like sticks w/ me like that, usually the second watch will make me a fan of the movie. Rosemary's Baby, I am content to pick up via the Paramount release. It's a really good film that I saw on Netflix for the first time about 5 years or so ago. Since I didn't have an inkling to return to it so soon, I never picked up the CC release. |

To those of you that missed the boat on Criterion’s release, if you’ve region free capability, I recommend you grab the Masters of Cinema blu-ray before it, too, goes out of print. I have not seen it, but reviews written at the time of release are quite positive; it was based on the same restoration Criterion utilized, and has many of the same extras. And perhaps it’s worth mentioning to those that aren’t fans of the digipak that Eureka’s release comes, instead, in a nice Amaray keep case. That’s a plus over the Criterion. If you have no experience with Eureka Entertainment, and have been considering taking the plunge, and getting a region free player, this may be a good jumping in point. I have 29 on their blu releases, and they have a well deserved reputation for quality, and in my experience, fantastic customer service. One of the great things about them-they don’t charge shipping, even on international orders. They are constantly running sales, too. Their 2 for £25 sale has enticed me a number of times. $34.60 for two fantastic films on blu-ray-that’s the kind of value that first lured my to import films. And honestly, as a movie lover, I cannot overstate the sheer freedom that comes with being able to buy any blu-ray release in the world. The consumer can evaluate their options side by side, and purchase the best issue as they see fit. You’re not forced to just buy what is available in your part of the world. Not beholden to the whims of a particular studio. Additionally, for those films you really love, you can buy copies from different regions and enjoy additional supplements. I grabbed a copy of White Dog, which was £13.99. With currency conversion, my total was under $20, or about the cost of the Criterion release during a Flash Sale, or Barnes and Noble 50% off sale. Nashville is £12.99, so it would only cost $17.98 delivered. It will take about 3 weeks to arrive, but I’ve never had an issue with a shipment being lost. |
