If it does. Then I would hope Morvern Callar would get a Blu before one that’s already on Blu. Especially one that’s released by a studio that doesn’t license out films.

Ah well, in any case I always support more options for viewers (nuts to David "no chapter stops" Lynch), so I support Mr. chane's request too.
I didn't even notice until now that Mulholland Drive doesn't have chapters. Lynch is right, though.

Last month Criterion announced the May releases on Friday the 12th, any chance they do again today? Although I think last month was because Monday the 15th was Presidents’ Day. Anyways any hopes for June?

Something tells me it will be Monday, but I would love to be wrong.

Agreed. Presidents’ Day meant they chose between the 12th or the 16th, early or late. This time it’s early or on time. Not that there’s any law dictating when they’re supposed to announce.

[QUOTE=chane;18715149]Here’s what I had emailed Jon Mulvaney on 2/28/21:

Mr. Mulvaney:
/QUOTE]

Uh, good grief, as someone who worked in customer service for a long time, there’s no reason I would 1) respond to something that’s not a question - especially when I likely have a day’s work ahead responding to other customers with actual issues, 2) respond to something which is like two pages long without a question or a problem, or 3) click a bucketload of links some random stranger sent.

Maybe Randall Stephens will have the time and energy to respond once he's back from the Fishing Excurson

Just received an email from Criterion saying Frances Ha from my sale order was having a stock discrepancy when I ordered so its been removed from my order. They said it'll be available again in a few months & have credited my account with $20 for my troubles.

Also told me 4 out of my 9 (now 8) items are on backorder with dates they'll be available again & asking would I rather hold off & ship them all at once or just ship what's in stock now.

Pretty great customer service I must say.

They are the best in my humble opinion!
The folks at Criterion go out of their way to make things right.

Yes they do! I had an insert that was printed/cut wrong so that the spine didn't line up correctly... I complained and they sent me a fresh one free of charge. Excellent

I have to say that my experiences with the customer service end of Criterion have been very positive as well.

Movern Callar really deserves a bluray. Even just to be put back in print on DVD at least. Amazon does license out to Criterion though if that's what you referring to? I love YWNRH but yeah there's a bluray already so not going to advocate for it

I thought Lionsgate had the home video rights to YWNRH. Just based on them releasing the Blu-ray. I am not up to date or most knowledgeable about the Home Video rights of things. So I could be wrong.

Update: I bought “Woman in the Dunes” and loved it. For my taste it was a near perfect film. Thanks for the input from everyone all those pages ago.

Awesome to hear. This is in my top 10 favorite Criterion titles, it's so good it's almost unbelievable. I'm biased towards classic Japanese films, I'll admit, but this one really gets my brain working in ways I love.

Is there a contact to ask about a replacement disc for a purchase outside of their site? My Zatoichi set came with a disc that's quite scratched.

I'm actually surprised Criterion hasn't released Showgirls (1995). The fact of the matter is Criterion has released a number of NC-17 films, such as Crash (1996) and Female Trouble (1974), though the latter was released as not rated. Still, I'm flabbergasted that Criterion hasn't released the highest grossing NC-17 of all time, that being Showgirls.

I'm hoping they'll finally announce Written on the Wind.

Would also be very happy if they announced Contempt, seeing how they've been re-releasing some of their OOP StudioCanal titles as of recently.
