After many many years of refusing to pay eBay prices for a copy of The Killer, I have finally stumbled across a legit copy for about $20 and it's now sitting happily next to the copy of Hard Boiled I've had since it was first released.
I fully expect them to now be in this weeks announcements

Yeah, my gut says today. I feel like they've done the announcements on the 14th of the month on multiple occasions within the last year or so, more often than in the past? Maybe I'm wrong.

It's pretty much "sometimes the 15th, but not always, and sometimes before, but sometimes after, and on the rare occasion whenever we feel like it" if the 15th doesn't drop on a weekday. I think it was the month that Moonstruck was announced they delayed everything three or four days because they couldn't get the final art for the movie approved.

Still, looking forward to a slate of releases that I've never heard of. Gonna be great.

Usually the second or third Tuesdays in February and October, but it's not quite that ironclad. One was in March once instead of February.

Buster Scruggs or Mank from Netflix would be nice. Something Scorsese related, and pretty much anything Japanese but Fires on the Plain would be perfect or anything Gosha.

I'm guessing we're about to see a month of really obscure titles, but I'd love to see After Hours and Bringing Out the Dead finally get to Blu-ray.

Oh, god damn it. That looks much better than the Criterion Blu-ray, whose grain is a fuzzy digital mess. Also doesn't push the blacks like Criterion's.







Criterion's logic here was just so strange. I know it is only one of the three parts of the movie, but 43 minutes is still long enough for a feature film. Yet they encoded it like an extra. I didn't even know I owned this film until months after finishing all the other Fellini-directed movies in the collection, because I'm not used to digging through special features. I rarely watch them.
