It's cool. Since there isn't much future projects going on I am waiting for, I keep up with things from some like Gray, Paul Thomas Anderson, etc. And the huge news about Godard making a 3D talking dog movie.

Personally, I would get The Magician before the other 2 listed. But if this came down to a vote and you stick with the winner of that vote, you better go ahead and get Thin Red Line and save time.

I don't know how current he is but I'd love to see David Mamet in their immediate future.

(They didn't do the Glengarry Glen Ross DVD so it's probably a pipe dream but that would one of my top Criterion Wish List picks).

Don Siegel could be fun too (Charley Varrick, anyone?).

Yeah, it always kills me when I go to the store and can only get one Criterion, because there's still I a lot I want. I saw The Thin Red Line awhile back and didn't really get into it, but knowing that it's probably the best-looking Blu-ray out there, it's tough, and I might wanna give it a second chance. I've always liked Bergman, yet haven't seen The Magician. So, yeah.

That's easy for you then. Like Bergman, didn't really connect with Thin Red Line. So Bergman it is.

I haven't picked it up yet as well actually (skipped all of October releases due to moving) so I might get The Magician with Modern Times with my gift card from Criterion.

Thanks for the advice. It helped. Oh, and speaking of Modern Times, it's been three days since I've gotten an update on the tracker for it from UPS.

Hmm, I'm not sure what I would want from Mamet that isn't already in the Collection, unless your talking upgrades to blu too. I wouldn't mind Glengarry Glen Ross though not directed by him (unless again you also mean his scripts).

Don Siegel is in the dvd land of Criterion with the Killers. Again I wouldn't mind seeing another though. Charley Varrick I haven't seen (I don't think I have, but sounds familiar), but anything with Walter Matthau gets my vote.

Hmmm, weird for UPS. Usually USPS does that. I would call them in the morning.

I know, not good news for you, but speaking of shipping, Borders shipped my newly ordered Sherlock Jr. after I canceled the 30 day backorder of it with B&N.

Yeah, this is the third time I've ordered from Barnes, and I haven't had a problem with it, but with Modern Times, the blame would have to go to UPS if they haven't updated anything for days. Good news on your Sherlock Jr, though.

Thanks. But yeah, again weird that UPS would have trouble. USPS usually takes my package 20 mins from me and ships it to 2 other states before coming back. lol. Hopefully they didn't lose it because then you would not only have to re-order Modern Times but take about 2 weeks to sort it all out with getting your money back and them telling B&N they lost it. It happened to me last year when I forgot what shipping company took forever with a shipment and lost it sitting in Memphis for 3-4 days.

That would really be a downer, considering I bought it during the sale, and I'm sorta impatient. I can only hope for the best that, maybe, it's just been non-stop traveling since Kentucky (I live in New Hampshire), but then again, it says that the estimated shipment arrival is not until next Monday. This entire order is just bizarre.

Oh my God! Really!? Got to check out this film.

I wouldn't consider it a "blacksploitation" film, just a film starring a prominent black actor. And I don't know who delivered the better performance, but as much as I like and respect Sidney Poitier, Rod Stieger was just spectactular!

DEFINITELY check this one out!

Blaxploitation, I always liked and own:

Trouble Man (I believe my very first that I owned.)
Black Caesar
Hell Up in Harlem
Foxy Brown
Coffy

Sugar Hill (don't own but love)
The Mack

a non blaxploitation but exploitation/cult film that I hope Criterion gets is

Rolling Thunder (very good film. Exploitation in subject, but one of the best made that period that holds up to the likes of Taxi Driver, etc.)
I've seen the ones bolded above and loved them...Pam Grier is great! I can see why Tarantino gave her a chance.

But I would love to see his recent string of films (from "Gerry" through "Paranoid Park") get released by Criterion.

Plus I just got a delay email from B&N.com saying my BBS set is delayed. THEY BETTER NOT CANCEL MY ORDER!
