My local Borders has Pierrot Le Fou AND The Man Who Fell to Earth. I think I'm going to go up tonight and buy Pierrot Le Fou and I might take someone with me who would get TMWHFtE, even though I already own that. I know purchasing that solely with the intent makes me a douche, but you know what? Tis the season.

Gotta agree there totally. Since I'm going to my beach house come Saturday and not coming back for week. As long as they don't pound the cancel gavel!

Are you talking about the one in the Solon Borders? Not that I'd buy it, so I won't be competition.

Canton. Solon is a lot farther for me. Canton's already about 40 minutes away.

I see. That's where I saw those two last. The Borders closer to me also lists it as likely in store but I've never seen it in all my trips there.

I saw The Magician via NetFlix rental and liked it, after giving The Seventh Seal a couple of views and just not getting it.

Put it this way, it inspired me to not only purchase The Magician, but to give The Seventh Seal yet another chance (purchase), if not, for just all the great supplemental material on Bergman.

I tried to embrace ITROTS, but it just didn't do it for me. I did enjoy and buy Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence.

I LOVED The Thin Red Line, so I'd tell you to get both of them!

My bbs was delayed as well along with my pacific i ordered yesterday. As long as i get them at some point i am ok with it.

I picked DRIVE, HE SAID as the first film to watch from the America Lost and Found collection. I thought the transfer was really good, any issues were just because of the print quality. It is a great time capsule of a film.

It is still an interesting film that to me Criterion saved from what could have been MOD limbo. This is I believe the first time this film or A Safe Place has ever been released on home video.

Also the interviews with Nicholson, Dern, and other crew members is really great to have. So far this set is really cool. I could only wish for more of these great titles from Columbia from the 1970's

It's saved for me. Now I just need to actually make my way up there. I'm hoping that I actually enjoy it, considering how hit or miss Breathless was for me.

just received modern time yesterday and watched a few scenes. having seen the complete Chaplin discography a long time ago, i totally forgot that this was already a sound film at 1936! lulz, it shocked me to hear sound and song emanating from the tramp's mouth.

i think Chaplin's true silent films are his best films. but it doesn't lessen the impact of Chaplin, the first auteur (arguably of course) even before the term was coined.

i happened to land at the scene where the boss yelled at Chaplin to get back to work. this film is *STILL RELEVANT* today in 2010

i can't wait for 1921's 'The Kid' to come. it's my favorite Chaplin still.
