My small order from last night:

And also:

[Show spoiler]

There's some other stuff I'd like to grab but between the Arrow sale, the Severin sale, the Kino sale, and the new Vinegar Syndrome partner label titles, I think I'm gonna need to wait a bit. Too many good deals lately!

It's been on my back burner for too long and it's the last I needed to complete Pakula's "paranoia" trilogy (I worked my way in reverse order).

If you like that trio I'd recommend "Comes a Horseman".

Five or six years ago, it was written that Criterion would be releasing the 1969 movie "Mackenna's Gold" on blu-ray... and here we are, still waiting.
I suppose it would be too much to ask for a couple of television classics:
1 - the 1981 mini-series movie "Goliath Awaits" (full version of two parts that were approximately 105 minutes each) that used to be repeated on Showtime every now and then,
2 - the Australian classic that made a lot of people watch HBO in 1983 when the mini-series "All The Rivers Run" was broadcasted.
Sometimes, I think the people with money in their pockets are listening to too many marketing people and none of the real people who would love to see something they grew up with and buy it!

I keep hoping that Criterion releases some more Errol Morris stuff considering their previous releases of his work. The Fog of War has no Blu-ray release. I wish someone would address that.

But it's still available on DVD. Which means they still have the rights; they just haven't upgraded it to blu-ray. If they've lost the rights to it, it will say "Out of Print". Even if it says "Currently Unavailable", that only means they've run out of stock, and need to order another pressing.

Stopped by my local B&N and found it crawling with people; the electronics section was stocked heavily with Criterion titles, and they had an extra massive display on the floor. It also appeared they had stocked several titles that they don't normally have on their shelves. I already picked up Pickup on South Street and have Mirror pre-ordered, but I still went a bit nuts and splurged on a bunch of stuff I've been holding out on:

I’ll have to check it out! Not sure if I should pickup All the President’s Men. I feel like it’ll get a Criterion at some point.

Is CriterionChannel strictly streaming? Or can you purchase digital movies on there too?

I've decided to make the switch to digital for a number of reasons and will build my new collection of films accordingly.

Except for a few years ago, when I had a lot of extra money so I was able to buy around 40 titles at once, my usual B&N sales haul is only one or two films. This time I was able to get three:

Obviously my favorite part of the sale is the pricing. However, my second favorite part is perusing the shelves of movies along with other folk and just striking up random conversations about Criterions, film and collecting in general. I mean this place is great, but nothing can substitute that live chat with another person right there in the store. Picking up something off the shelf and talking about it. I love that sh*t!!

Sorry, dumb question, but is the direct-to-Criterion flash sale coming soon, too? I prefer that one as you get the bonus points. Thx. But it is very hard to resist the B&N one, that's for sure!!!

Trying to build out a Roman Polanski collection during the B&N sale.

How would y'all rank the following three flicks:

Repulsion
Tess
Cul-de-Sac

(Already have the OOP Rosemary's Baby, and alas, Criterion didn't bring Knife in the Water to blu ray.)
