Given your position, please tell me that you watch films on an actual 55"+ or above 4K television and not a 27" gaming monitor.

I like to have some John Woo titles rather than JC(since I already imported the Eureka and 88 releases) if supposedly there no longer with Miramax.

A few had Janus logos on the Channel recently but I can't remember which ones they were. Unsure if any 88 overlap or not.

Wow, tbh I didn't realize it was that many! I did check them when they dropped too. . . and I even watched one of them.

I think it was mentioned by Kino that another label had Hard Boiled and The Killer who were unlikely to release those films on 4K which can only mean Criterion I would think.

I'm sure they will eventually, I actually thought that would be the next film from the Olympics boxed set to get a standalone release. Criterion did release it on laserdisc a while back.

I'd hate to be on the receiving end of that Riefenstahl backlash. . .

Fox/Disney have never licensed out UHD rights.
I just assumed it was an older master because Brute Force and The Naked City were. My bad.

These discs were stuck together and have a bunch of scratches on the back as a result, I don't know whether it was an issue with paint or glue, but I'm not sure how this was overlooked by Criterion?

My set was pristine.

Day 1 purchase. No scratched discs, no crushed box. I don't know what's going on for the rest of you.

They must be having production issues then post COVID. Every recent digipak and digibook I've received from them this 50% off sale so far have scratched discs, printing errors, dents, scratches, etc.

If you're multi-region the UK release of WHITE DOG on Eureka is superb. Unfortunately, it's bare bones, but does include an excellent booklet. Pairing it with the Criterion DVD for its extras works great.

Although controversial in its day, I wouldn't see Criterion shying away from it as a Blu release on those grounds, but given their current backlog of titles waiting for an upgrade, who knows if it will ever make the cut. A shame because the film is excellent.

Apropos of nothing, Barbra Streisand's been doing some interviews for her new album and mentioned that she's been working on recutting The Way We Were. I'd love to see that one from Criterion -- the Twilight Time release was OOP before I even found out Twilight Time was a thing.

I bought the Bergman set at the end of July and had no scratched discs in that either.

P.S. The paper on the back was stuck on the wrong side.

What's going on is that some of the sets are scratched and some are not. It's not difficult to understand.

Of course. The point being that it's not as prominent as the people on this thread would have you believe.
