What I think would be really crazy is if Criterion actually made the Uncut Gems UHD a steelbook with gloss finish. It would be so ridiculous one might be tempted to even come away thinking that they were trolling their fanbase in doing so, but they did opt to do a digibook in the case of The Princess Bride, so...

So I looked up who released Morvern Callar on DVD. It's Palm Pictures. They also released Memories of Murder, which is now on Criterion.
Criterion is also are releasing Lynne Ramsay's debut Ratcatcher, this time on blu.

So maybe this means that the chances for Morvern Callar on Criterion is favourable.

Don't most Janus films eventually appear on Criterion? Plus it's Lynch so it seems likely at this point.

Uncut Gems being a steelbook would be perfect.

Inland Empire is owned by Lynch himself like Eraserhead, so it's a matter of when rather than if.

Aren’t Palm Pictures defunct? Memories of Murder was licensed from NEON.

It doesn’t, they tweet images from films that Criterion can’t of won’t release all of the time. They also tweeted images from Inland before.

I do expect them to release it at some point, though.

What would really be amazing is if Criterion stuck a tiny diamond and embedded it in the cover if its a steelbook. Maybe put the diamond where the ring is (or on the Rolex watch) on the cover. That would be a real collector's item then. The first ever diamondbook!

So I just got kicked out of the Criterion Now fb group all because I said I wasn’t a fan of the citizen Kane cover art. I wasn’t rude or anything, just said in my opinion it could’ve been done better. That was it. Wow, I’ve been a fan for a while and always listened to the podcast and I get kicked out cause I have an opinion on the art work. Crazy,

And to make it as exclusive as possible, you could only buy this Criterion Steelbook from a jewelry store. We'd need to apply for financing.

Criterion Now FB is a private group. Those tend to be run by gatekeepers with power trips. No surprise that places like that ban, or kick out people that have dissenting opinions.

Where's the fun if everyone has the same opinion?

Yup, thought this group was different. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little but hurt. They lost a fan and a listener, I’m sure they don’t care but damn.

Maybe...stay with me on this...we come up with a way to objectively measure movies so that we know when everyone has a wrong opinion?

I was banned at HTF years ago when I posted that sometimes it seemed like the site made excuses for the major studios who were sponsoring their meet and greet parties in Los Angeles. About 60 seconds after I posted, I received a message from a certain MOD saying I was about to be banned unless I could explain to him what I meant by my post. He said I had one chance to explain and be reinstated. So I wrote back that I was just saying occasionally when defective discs were being discussed, MODs for the site might appear a bit defensive for certain studios every once in awhile. Not even 30 seconds later I received a response that read: "Your explanation is not good enough. You are banned for life from this site."
