That and Desperate Living need to be on Criterion. Makes sense to me since they were scooping up the New Line titles with Polyester and Female Trouble. I could see them only wanting the Waters/Divine films only.
And while I love all of Waters work, I don't see them doing Pecker, A Dirty Shame and/or Cecil B Demented. Kino seems more likely, imo.(Though that last one is probably under Lionsgate's heavy thumb)

Waters on at least one occasion has hinted that Criterion was working on it. So I hope it means sooner rather than later.

When I saw him last week for his Christmas show here in Austin he again heavily implied Pink Flamingos (as another member mentioned from their Christmas show with him too) was on the way. Not so much hinting as well wishing but he also mentioned hoping that Criterion would also do something with his early short films (Roman Candles, Eat Your Makeup and Mondo Trasho by name) too. Very much hoping those and Desperate Living all get the love they deserve.

Go ahead and submit your nominations if you feel strongly about it.

Why are commoners allowed to vote? It should just be film critics, historians, and directors. Who cares what Jeremy from Idaho thinks

I don't know. I don't work for Library of Congress. I guess something about seeing how films enter the cultural landscape at large. But again, this is pure speculation on my part.

I hope Criterion can go ahead and release their first foreign 4K UHD title. And yes, a Japanese movie would be great to see being rediscovered once again (Masumura would be good but Arrow has carried most of that already)

I'd care more about what Jeremy from Idaho said about MULHOLLAND DRIVE than someone complaining for the sake of it.

Would not be surprised at all if it's 'The Seventh Seal' as the BFI has just released a 4K of it over there, also Bergman seems like a safe bet for a 4K title release this early on.

I bought the box set, which means Bergman is now dead to me

**** authority. It’s a revolution now.

I wish fettucine was still around so he could tell us what’s hitting the Registry next year.
