The film festival cut was a bit over 2 hours and too long of a story for an unsigned band that no one's heard of, but the final cut to be released was tightened up and just under 1.5 hours, which lent to a much better pace. Anyway...

I have 80 Criterion Collection DVDs, but only 10 of their Blu-rays. I have spent so much on the DVDs that I'm having a hard time (financially) justifying replacing some of them. If it weren't for the cost I'd replace every one in a heartbeat.

It just doesn't have the same "oomph" when you say it as it did when I said it, CG. Sorry. Maybe, it was the way you chose to word it... or, possibly even the punctuation you chose to use. I just don't feel threatened enough. Keep trying, though. I know you have it in you.

ebay and Amazon are you friends to sell off those DVDs so that you can replace them with blu's or just get a netflix/BB acct and keep the money!

I do manage to sell some at work. I just recently sold my old "Days of Heaven" DVD at my desk for $12 so I could buy the Blu-ray on the Barnes & Noble 1/2 price sale.

Here's some Criterion trivia. What Criterion DVD was never given a Blu-ray release, but is available as a special feature in another Criterion Blu-ray?

(The original DVD isn't part of a box set. It's a regular spine numbered release.)

Plus it was mentioned a few pages back, I believe when someone listed it as a title they'd like to see.... or when we were discussing how much Bergman existed in the collection.... or perhaps when we were discussing turtles.... hell I can't remember.

Forget for a moment that the "CC" in CC Fixx is actually the initials in my birth-given name.

It is no coincidence, I'm afraid.

In fact, that "CC" also carries the crown/burden of the Criterion Collection empire.

Not challenging. Just enabling. Like leaving Four-Loko in an alcoholic's refrigerator.

And as far as I'm concerned...one of the greatest television writers (as well as screenplay writers) of all time...Rod Serling. I was able to get a copy of Twilight Zone Season One for $32.64 (tax included...free expedited shipping) from B & N (50% online coup). I collected the entire DVD version of this series and will keep an eye out for coups and discounts to add season 2 and the others, when they are released.
Kinda funny, in spite of my better judgment, I ended up with the first two seasons of TZ via Ultimate's bogo coupons just yesterday. Similar pricing. I had managed up until then to resist the double-dip, but now I'm in the same boat: keeping an eye out for coups and discounts for the subsequent three; that's how I ended up with the complete dvd collection in the first place: one fell swoop courtesy of an amazon deal of the day.

Agreed. CC's was very threatening, but you're clearly learning.
