[Show spoiler] Maybe you didn't get to those episodes yet. [Show spoiler] If I had to sum up the series, I'd compare this show to a number of influential films including: Rosemary's Baby (yep, a Criterion title), Solaris (oh, another Criterion title), Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me (you guessed it, Criterion!), Videodrome (yes, that's on Criterion too!), and finally The Ninth Gate (ahh, no Criterion release, but a fun Polanski film). By the way, I knew one of the on-set dressers who worked on this too. They shot it all around my hometown of Pittsburgh and Jen was one of the dressers hired to work on the show along with her sister Kate. |

Can we please move away from digi-book releases?
This whole UHD line is annoying if we're not going to get and stay plastic soon. Much rather them do something new or offer the thicker 14mm 4K cases from European releases, custom 4k cases or in the Scanavo Blu-ray cases. The cardboard has always had issues with shelf wear and durability. But this is subjective to this individual. ![]() Last edited by True_Story1011; 02-05-2022 at 04:09 AM. |

The Target B2G1 sale is very much worth it, as long as you are selecting titles that are priced at around $25 or less. This way, you can end up getting each blu-ray for about $15 or $16 each - considerably less than you would on a regular 50%-off sale.

Target has some great Criterion deals with their B2G1 deal. Amazon beats them in some regards with their clipped coupons, since many of Amazon's prices are already half-off.
Here are some deals I found Prices after coupon Time Bandits - $16.33 Show Boat - $16.33 The Philadelphia Story - $16.32 Yojimbo / Sanjuro set - $31.33 (~$15.66 a film) War of the Worlds - $17.33 Two-Lane Blacktop - $17.33 Essential Fellini Set - $112.66 Rohmer's Six Moral Tales - $39.99 They also have the Zatoichi set for a low of $89.99 after coupon. I saw The Red Shoes for the first time the other night and now I see an interview with Soderbergh mentioning it. Crazy.

I find it interesting that the credits on Miller's Crossing say "under exclusive license from 20th Century Studios" (i.e. the Disney branding) instead of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment LLC (i.e. the Fox branding) since Criterion has supposedly been sitting on this title for a while.
Pickup on South Street was the previous (legacy) Fox title released by Criterion, and that one does still have the Fox branding on it. Could Criterion then, perhaps, have a new deal with Disney to release titles from the old Fox back catalog? Is that where this new wave is coming from (i.e. Flight of the Phoenix and The Girl Can't Help It)? Or, am I just wishfully thinking? ![]() ![]() Credit to chrisandy007 for the pic from the Miller's Crossing thread. Last edited by lilboyblu; 02-07-2022 at 10:38 PM. |

![]() ![]() I wonder why it has 2022 for the Fox copyright too, instead of 1990? Did the rights just get renewed this year maybe, and so Criterion had to put 20th Century Studios instead of 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment? If they truly did license from Disney however, then that's pretty huge, especially with how many they're coming out with already this year. Last edited by MifuneFan; 02-08-2022 at 11:58 AM.
