I think it was a strong rumor so I added a database entry.

Nothing confirmed. Honestly forgot it was rumored.

It was said on an article that Body Double that Criterion was but they said that it was going to be released on a "deluxe blu-ray" by the Criterion Channel. I emailed the author of the article and they said that they only said that because it was streaming on the Criterion Channel. So the chances of a Criterion are very low at this point.

Didn’t know you messaged the author of the article, but their response sounds about right. A lot of people think a movie streaming on the Channel means it will automatically get a release.

Kurosawa had a big DVD set already, so maybe they could upgrade it to blu-Ray. Truffaut had the Antoine Donnelly set, also DVD, so maybe they upgrade that one or just go all in on Truffaut. I know a number of his films were just given 4K remasters.

Once Upon a Time in America from Criterion (or any other label really) would be a dream. It won't be announced, and probably won't happen.

Why not? Maybe it's just me, but I could definitely see Criterion releasing that. Also, while he wasn't someone reliable, didn't that gnocchi guy or whatever he was called say it was coming from Criterion

I would love that! They haven't released a screwball comedy in a while. I might be wrong, but I think the last one was Bringing up Baby and that was way back July of last year.
