So he could have been good in Knowing if he chose to but he sucked on purpose as kind of a fun inside joke? Interesting take.

You're not a Cub fan by any chance, are you?

Thanks!
Ultimate Electronics was giving out coupons throughout November. As far as I know, there were no online coupons, only the ones for the B&M stores. They're valid until 12/24.

Stagecoach is airing on TCM now for anyone who has yet to see it. It looks horrible. Thank you Criterion for the stellar pq!

I liked it a lot on my first viewing. I wonder how well it holds up.

National Treasure movies are popcorn funtime movies. Surely there is room for them.

To add to the list of Cage slam dunk performances: Raising Arizona.

I don't think he is that clever or premeditated an actor. I think he has a lot of juice and some directors and/or material know where to squirt it.

Ahem.

And The Human Centipede falls to second on my 'Mental Images I Could Have Done Without' list.

this is whats important about Cage. hes not a normal actor. when you try to put him in a role that doesnt suit him its a trainwreck, but when you put him in a role where his style works it can be perfect.
examples:
Raising Arizona
Wild at Heart
Bad Lieutenant
Kick Ass
hell this is probably an unpopular opinion but i think his role in Face/Off is great too.
there are some exceptions, hes been in some great movies where his roles were more straight forward like Red Rock West and Matchstick Men.
people always dump on the guy but i think hes pretty cool.

The coupons are active thru 12/24. But they were only handed out in store over the last month or so. Seemingly some of their stores may still have some of these older ones to hand out, but at least locally it seems they've switched to different coupons (something like 20% off).

Have a few left, but those will probably just barely get me thru the next few weeks' releases. (Assuming they're all even carried by Ultimate, good chance for many of them, but probably not all.)

I'm rather fond of Lord Of War. And one of these days I really need to watch all of Raising Arizona, though I've probably seen most of it by now.

I actually liked him in Family Man. Tea Leoni looked great too that might have had something to do with it.

Come on guy seriously? The amount of money H-Wood throws at Cage o be
"kooky" is insane. Trying to justify why Cagebwould accept upwards of 15 million per film is laughable. Love Gone In 60 Seonds btw.....

Your argument is invalid, in that case.

Default December is a Criterion Collection month for me.

I have purchased up 4 CC movies this month so far.

1. M
2. Night of the Hunter
3. Videodrome
4. Cronos (Blind Buy)

The only CC Blu-rays I own so far are

1. Che
2. Crumb
3. Gomoorrah
4. The Man Who Fell To Earth
5. Seven Samurai
6. The Thin Red Line
7. Walkabout

I hope to buy a CC copy of The Third Man soon. In the next few months I will be renting via Netflix other Criterion Blu-rays and see if they belong in my collection or not. I sure wish The Devil & Daniel Webster would be announced soon.

I can't not dislike Bringing Out the Dead because it's Scorsese.
