Crazy that Ferris isn't on 4k yet.

With the slight chance that there's a sale tomorrow (or next week) I compiled a list of cheaper blu-ray titles for those of you that are eyeing only two releases but would like to hit that $50 free shipping threshold. Let me know if I'm missing anything.

Three Outlaw Samurai is great. I watched that again recently after not seeing it for almost 10 years and enjoyed it a lot more than the first go around. It's not even close to being one of Hideo Gosha's best, but still damn good.

Wish Criterion would start releasing some more of his films already.

Bare bones release which at the time would often be cheaper. But they also advertised a more loaded extras edition at the time that never seemed to materialize.

I love Kobayashi, but nowhere near as much as I love Gosha in terms of what's missing on Blu-ray. I really want Samurai Rebellion, but want Hunter in the Dark, Goyokin, Hitokiri, etc much more.

Some mentioned getting an email from Criterion about the sale the night before. Is that always the case, and would such an email have been sent already if it was happening tomorrow, or is it more of a late night thing?

Yes, I've gotten an e-mail titled some variation of "A heads up for our most loyal customers" the afternoon or evening before every flash sale since March '19 (presumably after I hit a certain cumulative total amount spent, I would imagine). It's never come later than 8 PM EST, though, so at this point I'm expecting the flash sale won't be tomorrow.

It's always on a Tuesday, though. If it's not the 22nd, it's likely not happening this week.

Unlikely. It's usually on the last Tues of February (edit: Matt89 beat me to it), but there's a few reasons why they might have missed sending that email yesterday. They get Presidents Day off or they are trying to get Hard Days Nights 4k replacement discs/sets ready so they could be included in the sale too. Or, maybe, just no sale today. Us fans expect sales like clockwork, but maybe that's not how a flash sale is supposed to operate.

In any case, I'm excited to use the Criterion gift cards I got for Christmas, whenever the next sale may be.

That's what I'm hoping for. I really wanted to grab A Hard Day's Night in the sale, so I'm hoping they've delayed it for that reason.

Also, while I currently have a $10 off coupon that Criterion sent me back in December (they usually send me two a year - one around Christmas and the other just for being a Criterion Channel charter subscriber) I'm waiting for my other $10 off coupon that is on its way with my Citizen Kane replacement disc. I doubt it'll arrive by today so hopefully it'll arrive in time for the flash sale if it's been pushed back a bit.

I'm right there with you. That's the number one title I'm eyeing and it should be a top seller if it's included in the next sale.

Are the re-releases all in plastic cases, or just thinner digipack ones?
