All but two of those are all time faves for me. I would just note that Crash and Dressed to Kill have 4Ks out there.

CCs Crash is a superb release and worth keeping even if you upgrade later. It just can't compete with the Arrow 4K if you're pixel peeping.

Oh. And Miller's Crossing is a bit of a controversiL release. Hope you did your research beforehand.

Got my shipping notification. They're using UPS this time instead of USPS like last time.

As I'm going to Ireland in May, I've had to divert my funds to that and so had to miss out on this sale. But, alas, there will be others.

Yep, I would say that's a pretty good trade-off. Enjoy!

Got a shipping notification for my 2nd order so far and it's USPS, not UPS. "Your order was shipped using USPS-Priority/DC."

A lot depends on location and most importantly weight and size. I've noticed over the years, once I get to 6-8 titles (or a couple boxsets or one really heavy item) they tend to ship UPS. I have 10+ this time so I'd bet on UPS

I just looked at my orders and found up to 8 single BD would go out USPS
10+ always UPS

Interestingly I had a few 2-6 item orders that went UPS, but noticed every one of them had one or more DVD set (Eclipse sets , Golden Age TV, Rebel Samurai, Monsters and Madmen). I actually can't find a single order with DVD sized set that went USPS. I usually don't order DVD Singles so that could be significant.

The one Coffee Table book went UPS as well

12 orders USPS since 2011
13 order UPS

I just ordered it as a blind-buy in the Flash Sale. One of the few Scorsese films I've not yet seen. So, I guess I'll let you know... But in general, I'm in the "show, don't tell" camp.

just a minor complaint from me. i thought it was a fantastic film otherwise. excellent performances from the central cast.

Scorsese has always been fond of voiceovers, so if it’s purely show don’t tell, then be prepared for Scorsese to show and tell.

My first order (to qualify for a $50 gift code) of the Once Upon a Time in China: The Complete Films boxset shipped USPS Priority/DC.

My second order of Citizen Kane (4k+BR), Love Affair, Miller's Crossing, Written on the Wind, Speedy, Beauty and the Beast, and The Human Condition boxset shipped UPS Ground. I guess the THC boxset pushed it into UPS territory.

I wonder which will get here first? Doesn't matter to me as both have plenty of viewing goodness.

I had one order for 5 movies in the first 10 minutes of the sale.

It says it's being packed still. Hope it ships USPS, as I seem to have worse luck with UPS handled items. And USPS comes by 2 o'clock, whereas UPS can be up to 7-8 in the evening.

Now that the sale is over, the real fun begins - discussion about mail delivery services and what time those trucks arrive in Bakersfield, CA.

I ordered... The Freshman (digipak)... from Criterion sale.

Will Criterion most likely ship this in a box or bubble mailer?

Can't remember last time I ordered from them.

Mine always come in a box BUT I have never ordered just one so it might be different in that case.

More than likely some sort of cardboard sandwich.

Random post, but I recently saw the Holocaust drama "KAPO" (1959) with Susan Strasberg for the first time via Netflix and liked it a lot and would like to own it. Lo and behold, the old Criterion DVD goes for a ton of money. It's a Janus film so I assume it would still be with Criterion, and appears to be on the Criterion Channel, so I assume there's a slight possibility for a Blu upgrade one day?

A google search shows that Raro once announced they had the film, and were working on a restoration, and even released cover art, but that was years ago and it never came to be. Plus, Raro seems to be defunct anyway.

I'd love to see a Criterion Blu, but I assume the odds are low for a film that doesn't seem to be that well known...

Janus Films is distributing Johnnie To's 'The Heroic Trio'.
