There are some Elvis Costello albums I've bought something like 7 or 8 times. Sprinkle some Beatles and Dylan in there too. Fans will always do this for legacy artists and heavy hitters.

I think the June UHD will be a new spine (No page edits found this morning). Maybe Criterion releases Elaine Benes' favorite movie on UHD?

It's not like the Fellini or Bergman sets would've been cheaper if they took out all the previously released films. The Bergman set is already $150 during sales.
I agree. I want the sets to be as comprehensive and definitive as possible.

Criterion released blu ray upgrades of "The Virgin Spring" and "Scenes from a Marriage" just a few months before announcing the big box set. I purchased those, then, and I still got the box set. And I'm still happy that the titles I'd already bought were in the set, too. That might have seemed a bit shady on Criterion's part, to release those so soon before the box, obviously already knowing they had that box coming, but we didn't know for sure.

Still, I'm glad the set is as complete as it is. Heck, I was bothered that "Face to Face" wasn't in there, as it's still just a DVD only release with Olive. I have that DVD right next to my Bergman box on the shelf, still, LOL. I definitely wouldn't have liked a Bergman big box that didn't have "The Virgin Spring" or "Scenes from a Marriage" or "The Seventh Seal" or any of those in it.

If people don't want the whole box, they can buy the individual titles of those, now. I do wish I'D known, though, that the set was coming before I bought them.

Package scheduled to be delivered on the 17th (longest I've ever waited for a flash sale order). Lol and $51 in customs. I knew that was coming but UGH f*ck me.

That's more my point.

I do see it both ways, and obviously this is all hypothetical anyways.
I agree. That's why I suggested that the potential set be released on 4K UHD. That would provide a reason, for those of us who already own most of his stuff on Blu-Ray, to buy the new set.

I don’t see them putting all of Kurosawa’s films on 4K. I could see individual, or a Kurosawa Greatest Hits 4K set.

The Most Beautiful in a 4K restoration that costs Criterion at least a million dollars or we riot.

I can't sell my movies. They're like children to me. So some movies I have the DVD, HD DVD, Blu-Ray, UHD, and whatever might be included in a set. But these are my babies.

Actually, I should probably sell some of what I have, but I'm too lazy for that. Plus, I do really hate parting with any movies.

I agree. Some of those earlier titles barely had surviving elements decent enough to make a DVD from!

I can't see a 4K of "One Wonderful Sunday" or "Drunken Angel" or something.

I can see them doing a 4K box, like you say, of "The Best of Kurosawa" or something like that, that would include many of his major works.

I'd personally just be very happy with a BD set that was really comprehensive, like the Bergman one. Then, maybe they could do some individuals of a few really big titles in 4K.

So happy I don’t have that issue. I go to Amoeba in LA and always get money back from Criterion’s. Use that sweet sweet store credit to get more movies and/or some music.

The new 4K will be Pink Flamingos. Why do I think this? Cause I want it to be.

Thank you.

I sold over 15,000 of my own items in the early days of ebay, plus Half.com and Amazon. It can be done. Beats working!

I can agree with this logic. I look forward to its inevitably confirmed announcement then.

I miss when Amazon was giving great money for books, movies, games etc. Made blind buys much easier.
