I'm not sure how much replay-value it has, but I do consider it one of the most beautifully shot films I've seen in some years.

Please just let us get a Kurosawa. It's been too damn long.

I watched it like 3 times in the span of a week, each time I feel like I got more out of it. It’s just so beautiful. Even if I don’t get anything else out of it in future watches, I think it’s more than earned a place on my shelf. Unlike a lot of things I have watched.

Fingers crossed for Lone Star or Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid (eventually).

I hope we get a 4K announced today…I feel like there’s been at least one a month now right?

Also can’t wait for Inland Empire; hoping that’s today as well. The Pink Flamingos announcement last month was a big one for me though, so I’m still feeling that excitement.

That's what I'm hoping for too. The ultimate dream would be a box set, but if they even do one title I'd still be happy.

If Drive My Car is truly coming in July then that'll likely rule out any other Japanese film.

Why wouldn't we? They usually only delay them for huge announcements and holidays? While, Good Friday is a holiday in some places, I don't think it's one for Criterion.

I personally phoned Mr. Criterion Collection and asked them to delay the announcements for the third time in the past 4 months.

(although the pessimist in me is thinking they just tweeted that because of the connection between the day and title. It would be funny for Criterion to actually time The Long Good Friday to be announced on Good Friday considerng they plan their schedule well in advance).
