So would Lost In Translation and The Bling Ring. Somewhere is also beautiful. The last two were done by Harris Savides.

Personally I wasn't a huge fan of Philippe Le Sourd's cinematography for The Beguiled, and even less for On the Rocks.

Like at the very least we need a Sofia Coppola Box Set from 1999 to 2013 in 4K.

Rare instance where I've heard of all the films announced, however I've only seen Raging Bull, Drive My Car, and The Virgin Suicides (a while ago) from the ones listed.

Definitely in Raging Bull, maybe Drive My Car as well on sale.

All the films here seem worthy of being included in the glorious and godlike Criterion Collection, since Criterion is the best of the best and nobody does it better makes me feel sad for the rest nobody does it half as good as Criterion.

But at he end of the day surely it's Criterion who decides what deserves to go in and what doesn't. Like how any blu-ray label works, if Indicator put out _____ then it's worthy of being put out under Indicator. I'm just here for films no matter what they are, give me more films please.

And if you've never even heard of it, well, that kind of sullies your credentials seeing as it's actually one of David Lean's most famous films and pretty much laid the blueprint for every subsequent "single woman finds romance and in the process find herself while visiting a foreign land" type movies.

But that's okay, you continue to stomp your feet and display all kinds of ignorance while lashing out at anyone who challenges you. You're only embarrassing yourself.
I will respond to your post and yours alone since you were the one who asked the original question. But note: after this, that all of you will be added to my ignore list and my notifications turned off.

I said, and can say, Summertime is not top-tier David Lean/Katharine Hepburn without having seen it because when I think of their work...I don't think of it.

David Lean: Lawrence of Arabia, Doctor Zhivago, The Bridge on the River Kwai, Brief Encounter, A Passage to India, Great Expectations, Oliver Twist.

Katharine Hepburn: The African Queen, The Philadelphia Story, Bringing Up Baby, The Lion in Winter, On Golden Pond, Little Women, Suddenly, Last Summer, Woman of the Year, Adam's Rib, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, Long Day's Journey into Night, Stage Door, Pat and Mike, Morning Glory.

Now, to you, to dismiss a film without having seen it may seem foolish and ignorant. But I've seen people on this forum do it all the time. Are you all really going to sit here and act like you don't? Or, that it's usually not for Black-directed films, like the Devil in a Blue Dress (which I'm sure many of you haven't seen and don't think belongs). Furthermore, I've said that my opinion on the matter may change after watching it.

But now I see that this was all just a bait and switch. And that this group of man-children, who are no doubt older than me, seem to be unable to get over their hang-ups with me. But as I've told y'all before, that's your problem. Not mine. And I don't care.

Footnote: I'm not sure most of you even buy Criterions, as your collections are not displayed on this Blu-ray collecting website. Go figure.

As usual, Criterion already replaced the clip and screenshots on Summetime page with the ones from the upcoming release.

I was going to suggest that you put every person on this forum on ignore so you can only see your posts, but I have a feeling you will then start arguing with yourself and end up on your own ignore list.

The leak helps fans get started on calculating the half off prices.

I'm going to be a bull in a bookstore in July.

Assuming the leak is true, Raging Bull on UHD would be the only day one purchase for me. Drive My Car is easy enough to watch online in 1080p I don't feel the need to own it on standard blu-ray.

On one hand: Raging Bull (in my personal top 20) on UHD!

On the other: Summertime, only on Blu-ray in 2022, after all these years of waiting and... in the wrong aspect ratio AGAIN!

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.*

* assuming it's true, of course

I'm definitely in for Summertime (if it's true). I could also do Devil in a Blue Dress. I took a pass on the Twilight Time release when I could have had it for $10, but I'd reconsider if the Criterion had some decent extras. Franklin's early short, Punk, would be cool.

I already know Summertime's AR will be a contentious topic. Ideally, it would be great if Criterion released it in both fullscreen, and widescreen presentations.

So you're going to put the entire forum on ignore? Then why bother even coming here if you can't see what others are saying? Doesn't make sense to me. Either way, I would say relax and stop being so argumentative as it's honestly getting you nowhere far at this point, but I might already be on ignore.

On an upbeat note, I just received a package with "The Girl Can't Help It", "Miracle in Milan", and "Walker" in it.

Between that and the announcements, I'm pretty happy with Criterion, right now, overall.

I'd be satisfied with that, but how about some UHD up in here as well?

Yeah, I thought it would get one, but perhaps there's no 4K restoration of it done. Guess we'll see when it's official.
