I find it notable there has not been any kind of box set this year. Criterion likes to drop them in June/July.

I wonder what they could be doing...

I think just Okja UHD for me from the slate. Might double dip on The Virgin Suicides UHD too.

Maybe something massive like a Akira Kurosawa set, or even better a set with every single movie that Tatsuya Nakadai appears in.

Not Wong Kar Wai 4K that's for sure.

Jon Mulvaney confirmed they weren't going to release one. And after seeing a great comparison video, I'm going to stick with the OOP Chungking Express and In the Mood for Love Blu-rays. I think I'll stick to his other films through the Criterion channel.

Yeah, I'm not a fan, but it seems like a lot of the Netflix or 4K titles end up with those, so just curious about Okja really.

I bought The Vïrgin Suicides last summer on Blu-ray. Might upgrade to 4K, but not sure yet. Wish I waited for the 4K. May get Drive My Car during the B&N sale.

It's an upscale? That's disappointing.

I'm seeing Billy Wilder's Love in the Afternoon at the related films section of Drive My Car. Possible leak for August?

It's not, it just doesn't have an HDR pass.

Semi-related was there some kind of new US regulation against plastic packaging? I saw Hasbro change their packing to all cardboard for their toys so I wonder if the physical media market is going to have to adapt...

Although it appears to only cover disposable packing, not plastic you keep so who knows.

No, I think they mean it doesn't seem to have Dolby or HDR since it's not in the info list for the release- at least for now. At that point I can see why some might not upgrade (I am for sure because I want to support more Sofia Coppola in 4K).

Glad I never bought the Indicator of Blue Dress. If anything, it’s surprising Summertime is a 4K restoration but not a UHD, when most of the titles are UHDs.

Raging Bull doesn’t appear to have all the existing extras as with other MGM licenses so might watch the existing BD before committing to the UHD.

What is it missing? I just did a comparison to the 30th anniversary disc, and they looked to be the same other than the new essays included with the CC release.

Excellent selections! I think this is the first announcement, wherein I want to own all of the new titles.

Yes! An Akira Kurosawa box set would be the ultimate announcement!
