I am 99.9% sure that every single one of these films will be released at some point.

Could be, though Prisioneros de la tierra, and Kalpana are the only titles listed on WCF's website.

Just realized that most of the WCF titles listed here are in the newest WCF box set coming in September

I asked in the 4K thread, but I can get some answers here as well.

Someone give it to me straight: Just how bad is the Le Cercle Rouge transfer?

Janus Films is distributing a 4K restoration of Mike Leigh's Naked in the US, so perhaps Criterion will upgrade their 2011 Blu-Ray or even release it on 4K UHD.

Only a few days away from the next set of reveals. I'm REALLY hoping we get Cure this time around, and maybe the Heroic Trio. If we don't get Cure for October, then who knows when it will be released.

Anyone think any of these are a threat to be re-released in 4K soon?
Memories of Murder and Blue Velvet have 4K masters ready to go, and both Lynch and Bong Joon-Ho have a good CC UHD track record so far (Mulholland Drive and Okja). So I personally held out on these titles anticipating a UHD upgrade.

If Criterion relegates these to a blu-ray only release, I’m going to be proper livid!

Criterion October Horror Wish List

There was a time when a Criterion collector expected at least one horror film to be released in the month of October. In that spirit, I give you my wish list of five horror films that I would love to see in either 4K or blu-ray format:

1. Freaks (Tod Browning, 1932)
2. Braindead (Peter Jackson, 1992)
3. I Walked with a Zombie (Jacques Tourneur, 1943)
4. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (Rouben Mamoulian, 1931)
5. Martin (George A. Romero, 1976)

Braindead (along with Bad Taste and Meet the Feebles) by Jackson is what The Abyss and Trues Lies is to James Cameron.

I could see Freaks and I Walked with a Zombie getting the C treatment.

And man oh man, do I wish someone could do both Martin and Dawn of the Dead. If anyone could wrestle with the trash of a human that is Rubinstein, it'd be Criterion.

I also hope that we maybe soon get a special announcement for a big box set for November or something like that.

I recall that the Bergman and Fellini sets got their own announcements outside of the other announcements. Usually around the end of July.

Grain of salt and all, thedigitalbits says Night of the Living Dead 4K for October. Would make sense with the existing 4K master that has been playing in Japan, etc.
