Same situation with Hard Eight. So that's a possibility.

Definitely an error on their part. It's a UK film, both setting, and production-wise. If the leaker is basing it on what Janus/Criterion may have erroneously listed, then we definitely can't rule it out.

If Night of the Living Dead, Cure, Arsenic & Old Lace are indeed the other titles in addition to the confirmed Lost Highway, then this might be the most "Halloween" Criterion has ever been. Not that I'm complaining since I've always wanted Criterion to release more horror and horror adjacent films.

Along with the rumored Warner Archive releases, October's gonna really hurt my wallet.

One thing I really want to know is this: who has I Walked With a Zombie and why are they holding it hostage?

There's many good possibilities for 1997. Boogie Nights feels like the obvious answer. For me, Eve's Bayou feels right, if only because Criterion has been pretty consistent about releasing at least one film from a Black filmmaker every month. I think the only month this year without one is ironically February.

Is the 1997 US title not Lost Highway? The film featured in Criterion’s delay announcement???

It's a French production, so it's listed as France

Hard Eight or Eves Bayou would be great.

I wonder what the chances are to get LA Confidential too. Though I'm still hoping it's Boogie Nights

Arsenic & Old Lace??? Good god, make it so haha. I had no idea Criterion might release that one. Imo, one of the greatest comedy of all time, just so damn good. Cross fingers this is true!

It's been strongly suspected since 2017. A list was posted back then of Warner titles that were discontinued all at the same time, and so far they've all come out from Criterion.

This is the list:

Round Midnight
The Roaring Twenties
The Philadelphia Story
Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid
O Lucky Man
Lone Star
Hedwig & The Angry Inch
Captain Blood
Bringing Up Baby
Arsenic and Old Lace
Mean Streets

Or maybe the leaker was off by a year and it’s “I Know Where I’m Going” 1945?

Could the 1997 US title be Lolita? I know Imprint has theirs coming out in September...

It's based off of Criterion's listings.

It being October, Arsenic makes the most sense too.

My random guesses. Disclaimer: I have no idea what I'm talking about and some of these probably aren't even possible, but Monday is a long time away and I'm a few drinks in.

1944 USA - Arsenic and Old Lace
1968 USA - Funny Girl 4K
1997 France - Lost Highway 4K
1997 Japan - Cure 4K
1997 USA - The Apostle
2019 Guatemala - Tremors

‘I Know Where I’m Going!’ is British not American.

1944 - Arsenic and Old Lace
1968 - Night of the Living Dead
1997 - Lost Highway
1997 - Cure
1997 - Career Girls
2019 - La Ilorona

These are the ones I'm thinking (Same as everyone else's haha). Nonetheless, this is obviously going to be a BIG (I can't stress that enough) month for Criterion!
