Finally popped into B&N to buy a few sale items and saw that the Citizen Kane Blu was the same price as the UHD, so it made sense to go with the latter.

I guess because it's a digipack? Seems like Criterion shooting themselves in the foot on that one, unless it's a B&N screw-up.

Sounds like the store screwed up, the Criterion site lists a $10 difference. Looks like Barnes is listing the 4K for the Blu price.

I'd have rather just spent $20 for the Blu-ray a la Raging Bull, but an extra $5 for the UHD disc isn't terrible.

Not much of a screwball comedy fan, but I'll pick up Arsenic and Old Lace as a blind buy, simply because of Cary Grant. Also in for Lost Highway. Maybe Lynch can forgive Kino now...

I’m a 4K and the extra $5 isn’t breaking my bank account, so I opt for the 4K.

Is the Citizen kane blu ray a regular case or another digipack?

I actually think it’s one of Criterion’s more unique covers.

I don't agree with this. I actually like the cover and it's absolutely better than any of the ones you posted.

^Yeah I'm all for original poster art and just yesterday clamored it for it before Criterion officially announced it, but I dig what they did here.

For me, it's Inland Empire and Straight Story. Then I'd own every Lynch film in a nice release.

Are you rejoicing because you plan on burning all of the copies?

Carey Grant plays the loonie like he does in all his comedies. The 2 grannies have no comedic timing or they miss it everytime. Teddy Brewster character is supposed to give comedic relief by acting like he is mentally challenged yet I failed to laugh 1 min. Elaine Harper's acting is so good you forgot she was part of the cast. I had to pause and watch it later many times before I was able to get through to the end.
The movie's premise is very cheeky for its time yet the adaptation on screen still feels like I am watching a play with very bad theater actors. I don't mind the play feel of the movie but Frank Capra did a very poor job in that movie picking the wrong actors and creating a very poor on screen adaptation

We know Inland is going, someone leaked that it’s coming next year. Straight Story is one I want too. There’s a lot I want, possibly too many to list.

Isn't the Straight Story owned by Disney?
