Pretty decent month, though a bit low on output with only 4 titles. I never got around to picking up Mildred Pierce, so definitely getting that, and most likely Last Hurrah as well (though I'lll have to compare it with Eureka's release).

Based on the way they were hyping up the restoration of Inland Empire, I did think they were going to release it on 4K as well, but maybe that was just stretching that master way too far.

Definitely. I'm getting it either way, I just feel like such a fuss was made over it being a 4K/UHD remaster, it's funny that it's going to be a Blu-ray. Still super happy to upgrade it.

The Mildred upgrade is a surprise, but it's probably the first of many Warner upgrades for their 100th anniversary. Also, Joan makes it to 4K before Bette. An outrage.

Did not expect them to release this one on 4k UHD. Was thinking about picking this one up during the sale, but I'm glad I held off.

Hoping that Roaring Twenties gets the same treatment whenever Criterion gets around to releasing that one.

Which is funny since he's not even in the movie. Perhaps he did double duties while there. The messages he posted on social media seemed to point to it being Twin Peaks related, so I guess time will tell.

Odd for all that "4K" restoration work to go into Inland Empire to get a Blu-ray release. I feel like there was endless discussion about it's production, to be relegated to a blu-ray seems off.

I feel the same way! Criterion took long enough to get in the 4K game, their releases have pretty much all been remastered in 2K-4K for years now, everything at this point should be offered in 4K going forward.

Yep. I really dont understand it. It makes me not want to buy any of their blu-rays, for fear 2-4 years later I'm buying it again. If you do a 4K master, put it on the format. For the most part, aside from niche titles that will probably never get another release, or crazy deals, I've stopped buying blu-rays.

What sucks about no 4K of INLAND EMPIRE is that, it may never get a 4K upgrade at all... if it does from Criterion they won't revise it for probably 5-7 years.
