Of course, there's the Brian Eno music. And it was good to hear the astronauts talking like normal people as they try to describe their incredible experience; that humanized the whole thing more than I've ever seen.

There's a slight tint of imperialism in some of the language, the same attitude that landed us in Vietman, but seeing and hearing the basic humanity behind getting to the moon was flat-out moving. Think you'll enjoy that one.
Many thanks, I've watched pretty much everything about the Apollo program but never saw For All Mankind, I'm really looking forward to that one and will probably watch it first of my order.

I should win an Academy Award for my ordering:

Top 3 are the 4Ks and the rest blu-ray.

It's already shipped, that was fast.
I watched loads and loads of French movies during the pandemic. Jean Pierre Melville's I liked the most and from his I liked Le Cercle Rouge best. Really a very, very good film, I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Happy to hear everyone getting their packages shipped out so quickly. That's great.

I picked the wrong time to write 'Mulvaney' at Criterion with a question about Pasolini 101 supplements, LOL. They don't have time for that, there's orders to be filled!

I mean this in the best possible light.

I don't think the customer service people at Criterion do a whole lot in terms of the packing up of orders at Alliance Entertainment.

You'll probably get a response.

Nah, but their social media end has been solely focused on that sale, plus they likely get inundated with numerous emails for some reason or other during an event like that. Just bad timing.

I'll get an answer, it'll just take a good bit longer than it might have.

Just joking around, anyway.

Joking is not allowed. Neither is celebrating one's personally curated selection of cinema.

Only wild guessing about what Criterion will release and when. Some side arguing about the direction of the company is allowed, but only if one side is represented. The other side should just shut up.

These are the rules!

You clearly forgot endless discussions on the Japanese films we are never going to see in our lifetimes.

Bylaws indicate that falls under the "direction of Criterion" clause of the original charter.

Our forefathers were wise.

At least gone are the days of me whining about Criterion allowing Pasolini's 100th to pass without an epic physical release of his work...

(Direction of Criterion; Section B; Article 8).

Went box set crazy and still left 4 or 5 unbought. They really have been knocking those out lately.

All this legal mumbo jumbo talk made me think about something that I haven't thought about in the last hour...Criterion isn't releasing enough Japanese films!

I was in the area of my local(est) Barnes & Noble today, so I thought I'd stop in to see if they had any of the titles I ordered from the recent Criterion sale in-store. (During the sale, I often try to order titles that I think might not be carried anymore in the B&N stores). I felt like I was going to have a mild heart attack when I saw the normally filled Criterion Collection racks completely empty. WHAT!?!?
[Show spoiler]IMG_4947*.jpg

My heart calmed down a little bit when I found the Criterions in a different location, although the number of rack space they now occupy is noticeably smaller.
[Show spoiler]IMG_4950*.jpg

So I guess that's good and bad news.

That's all I have.

Does anyone have any idea what the likelihood is of Pepe le moko ever getting a bluray upgrade? Or should I just bite the bullet and get the dvd?

My order shipped via DHL last night and had an estimated delivery of March 27, but it just updated to out for delivery. Amazing. Criterion are always super fast with shipping out orders from their flash sales but I didn't expect it to arrive within ONE day. That's impressive.

Very excited to have these in time for the weekend.
