Oh, yes I am, very. If Uwe Boll made Inception, you think it would be having it's suckfest right now? Prob not. But Nolan the thinker made it. Awesome movie! What does his fanboys say, "In Nolan We Trust!"? Can't wait for his next Batman film, which will surely kick Inception out of the best of all time.

I like that song. Loaded is underrated, though it's hard not to love every album, since there is only 4 (not counting all of the re-issue stuff and VU in the 80's.)

you can't hurt me CG! Just when you start talking about Inception that way it makes me wanna pull a bag over my head because I absolutely love that movie! Plus, I hate it when people lump it in the same sentence with The Matrix.

I respect your opinion, but when it comes to Inception I would have to respectfully disagree with your "anything and everything hollywood = crap!" opinion.

Added note, when and if they make a sequel to Inception (which would be a travesty!) I will respectfully find you on whatever site/thread you're posting on and give you a gentle And that's because a sequel would ruin this film.

Don't take it as another "Hollywood=crap" thing, as I love alot of Hollywood films. All I'm saying is no one should compare Inception to Last Year at Marienbad. It's closer to the Matrix.

I completely agree w/ you. Although not about The Matrix thing. Ew! I hate even typing them in the same post. Don't get me wrong because I thoroughly enjoy THAT movie, but not near as much as Inception. Respectfully, each one has it's flaws but upon the first minute of Inception, the comparisons should be completely thrown out the window. Marienbad and Inception are both unique, but I never would've made a connection between the two had it not been mentioned in this thread.

BTW, I added a little to my previous post just for you! I will stand by that promise!

You sound like an idiot right now... lol

But you seem to be having fun doing so, so do whatever gets your kicks.

I wouldn't be surprised either. I could actually see someone other than Nolan doing it too.

I prefer The Prestige as well.

Idiot? Come back to me next year and tell me how much you love Inception. Or better yet, in 2 when The Dark Knight Rises is unleashed. Not nice name calling.

The standard is 7 days but you can renew it twice, which could give you a total of three weeks.

Nolan can be accurately described as "the thinker" among people that don't care for anything outside of American mainstream. You can't blame them.

But I certainly think that Inception would be much more highly regarded around here if the prestigious Criterion Collection was to put it out, which is a mentality prevalent here which few people seem to acknowledge. How many people are going to say "Nolan sucks except for Following" when Criterion puts that out?

Also: when the hell did seeing a movie like Inception for flat out fun become a crime? Sometimes it seems as if none of you put on a film just to have a good time for a couple hours, which is rather sad.

I think you misunderstood that. No way was I comparing Boll to Nolan. I just said if Inception was a Boll film (who is looked down upon as a bad filmmaker) would people be all over it if he made it instead of Nolan (who is praised and known MOSTLY-not all, as the Batman filmmaker.).

Straight to DVD sequel, and animated sequels don't count. I won't bow to you for those!

I really hope you don't think I'm one of the "Nolan is great if some f'n company puts out his movies" group.

Second, flat out fun? This isn't about that. This is about a comparison to Last Year at Marienbad and "being called one of the best films of all time", however you can compare that to other films. Now your turning it as I hate fun movies, even though I have a f'n blind guy with a guillotine hat in my f'n avatar.

Deal. I will also add that it WILL be a prequel. Don't ask me how, THEY will find a way.

tell it like it is chief!

Listen, a lot of people in this thread do enjoy that. People have different tastes though. I'd say if they're going to question your tastes, then you should question theirs back.

Ugh man! I have to admit that I didn't think about this commitment all the way through. But I'll still stand by it.

The questions were not an attack as much as a question to you (i.e. do ya agree?). I observe too much Criterion fellating on here to not see similarities between Nolan's rabid fan base and Criterion's. People on here just don't seem to say anything about it (understandable).

Again, not directed specifically at you, calm down. This thread (and Mubi) can sometimes just reek of over seriousness in regard to films, which is rather annoying. Like I said, it can sometimes seem as though no one watches films for fun, which is boring.

I'd still like to know who in the f said it was a crime to "flat out fun" like a movie? This was about comparisons to another movie, to improve Inception's "artsy" ways. Can't have both people! Either it's "flat out fun", or "smarter filmmaking". Don't put words in my mouth.
