Lol, just joking.

I am actually with you on this, many people in this forum seem to be very compulsive when it comes to many things. (including best movies ever).

Anyways, I dont try to convince them otherwise anymore as its useless, and I would advice you to do the same.

Except no one here said "INCEPTION GREATEST MOVIE EVAR!!!!" or anything like it. Do those people exist? Yeah sure. Did anything even close to that get expressed in this thread? No.

I'd argue that you are the "hater", as you are fabricating this hypothetical situation and, in doing so, implicitly accusing people who like Inception of only following the current popular trends. I feel that is just as insulting as the supposed "hating" you claim to have experienced.

Having a discussion about the qualities of a movie is one thing. Putting words in people's mouths and trying to pass judgment on what you imagine their motivations for liking movies is, is an entirely different matter. Guess which one happens more often than not in this thread...

I can confirm that this BD player works, I've had one since Black Friday and it has played every disc I've thrown at it.

I haven't found any compatibility issues. It even converts PAL format extras to NTSC.

This is how you change the regions:

Turn the player on. With the tray closed and no disc inside, press the "Home/Setup" button on the remote control. Enter "9 1 1 3" on the remote. If you did this correctly, a new selection appears on the menu: "Configure Player". Scroll to it and press enter. A menu pops up that lets you select the DVD region and BD region. As far as I know, there's no limit on how many times you can do this. However, when the player is turned off, it reverts to "region 1 / region A" status and you will need to put in the code again each time you turn on the player (provided you want to watch a DVD/BD from a different region).

Very much considering jumping on this. I love my PS3 for gaming/blu-ray but I would love to be able to import films.

I have a stand-alone player for the theater room, and a PS3 for the T.V., but I think I'll jump on this too....... There have been too many releases I've missed out on due to region status......

Of course I've been threatening to get another player for awhile, but have yet to pull the trigger I will have to check my inputs, but If I could get this player, set it to Region B, and leave both players connected so I can just use one for Region A, and one for Region B depending on the film I want to watch, that might be a perfect solution, rather than going into the setup options every time I switch from movie to movie.

I managed to finish watching Peeping Tom (region B Blu-ray) tonight on the Insignia player. Very interesting film -- I can see why people at the time found it disturbing. It can still be unsettling if you stop and think about it. I wonder if this new transfer will see a region A release. It kind of sucks that Studio Canal took this title from Criterion and then only released a region B locked BD (for now).

In other news, looks like the light engine in my Hitachi RPTV is going...again. I have a red glow on the right side of my screen.

Not sure if this is the right place, but Amazon USA just dropped a bunch of Criterion Blus to 24.99. I have Prime, so I decided to jump on a few (Charade, TRL, Night of the Hunter).

Hope this helps!

Yea I just ordered 'Night of the Hunter' on Blu. That $24.99 price is over $10 off the usual price on Amazon. Great price!

Amazon has modern times for $19.49! Pretty good price for a great film.

What on earth are you saying! LOL!

I feel like somebody just wants to go against the grain just for the sake of being different, simply because you seem so adamant about discrediting these films at all cost. I swear, I still don't understand what the point is of expressing your dislike of a film on threads among people who genuinely enjoy them, if that's what you're trying to do. Nobody here thinks "Inception is the greatest film EVAR!" though, it is however unique and enjoyable. Just cool it.

BTW, It's been 2 years since TDK and 1 year since Avatar, and I still enjoy them as much as I did then. And if your "not here to make converts", then just stop because your really stretching your argument.
Did I make a claim at anytime that Pirates Of The Caribbean is the greatest movie ever? Did I said at any point anyone in this thread said Inception is the greatest movie ever?

Good lord you seem to feel very threaten by my comments, I did not mean to insult you.

Actually from my experience, once you input the code the first time, the "configure player" menu stays up even after you turn it off and back on. You still have to choose regions apart from A and R1, but you don't have to input the code more than once.

Very impressed with the BBS set so far.

I've been going in spine order.

Head, Easy Rider, Five Easy Pieces--- very pleased with the AQ/PQ so far. I'll probably go through this set twice before moving on to more films.

[Show spoiler]Bobby: I'd like an omelet, plain, and a chicken salad sandwich on wheat toast, no mayonnaise, no butter, no lettuce. And a cup of coffee.

That's what I do with my region-free BD player and PS3, and it works great. If you've already got another BD player there's no reason to keep changing the region, just keep it on whatever international region coding you use the most and use your other player for local BDs.

That is pretty much how I do it Beta.

I've got a Panny BD-55 that I use for all region A/region 1 discs. Since I have a lower end receiver, I can't pass audio over an HDMI connection, so I've got the 5.1/7.1 analog out of the player and into my Yamaha receiver. I've got a Momitsu 799 that I use only for region B. The only downside is that the best I can do audio-wise is DD 5.1, which still sounds pretty good. Most of what I've bought from the UK has been older films, so audio is not going to be an issue.

You get used to inputting the code(s)...the one advantage of the Momitsu/Sherwood players is that you only have to input the code with the player turned on and you're ready to go. The Insignia has you going through a few menus, before getting the job done. BUT...it's a bit more than $100 cheaper that the Momitsu and if you don't play import BDs too often (like me), it's not that big of a deal.
