The blue feather from last year's megacartoon (supposedly The Four Feathers on DVD/BD) hasn't been announced yet. Kes (September clue), Fear & Loathing on BD (October clue), and Blow-Out (November clue) haven't been scheduled yet. 35 Shots of Rum was hinted with a photo on their website this summer, which is also how Sweet Smell of Success and Antichrist were hinted.

Kuroneko is probably a shoo-in for sometime in 2011, from Criterion promoting it's theatrical run fairly heavily.
I thought the october clue was robinson crusoe on mars, but everyone thought it was fear and loathing.

Since you're spreading the gospel I thought I'd let you know that there have been multiple times in the past when the announcements weren't on the 15th of the month. So, stop lying to people. Thanks.

I think Kes will be announced very soon.

I'm hoping Criterion picks up Assayas' Carlos and releases it soon.

My BD upgrade wantlist includes: The Passion of Joan of Arc, Bicycle Thieves, Do The Right Thing, Naked Lunch, Naked, the rest of the Godards, Teshigahara box set, all Tarkovskys.
Y Tu Mama Tambien has already been released in the UK with all the special features from the DVD port.

Was CC supposed to release it?

I think I'll introduce my wife to Fritz Lang via "M" tonight..... since "The Complete Metropolis" showed up in my gold-box today in addition to being on sale..... Yet another pick-up I can't wait to watch!

Ah, gotcha. Well then, I'll sell the import when the time comes. It's a great disc, btw.

It seems as though Carlos would be right down Criterion's alley, with the major publicity it garnered in the film world and the contract with IFC. However, I have doubts it will get picked up due to its similarity (long biopic from a major director about an infamous terrorist/revolutionary) with Che. There are other IFC titles that seem very suited for Criterion, such as Room in Rome, Sin Nombre, and more recently White Material. As for soon-to-be released movies, maybe a film like Julian Schnabel's Miral, although I'd love to see Diving Bell and the Butterfly get a release.

Y Tu Mama Tambien pleassssssse. And no more Godard/Kurosawa/Bergman for at least half a year. More French New Wave from someone other than Godard would be cool, and if nothing more obscure, at least Resnais and Truffaut need something else. Hiroshima Mon Amour seems like something that wouldn't be far off.

Andrei Rublev re-do would also make me very happy.

Jon Mulvaney is the man. I just received my new outer box for the BBS set, which came destryoed twice. I kept the second shipmant because the inner cases were not as damaged as the first set I received. The second one was actually not bad at all. So, it looks nice now

Nah, make Amazon do it. Usually they'll send the replacement via 1-day (at least they will (usually) if you've got Prime).

Actually, they do want you to return it. Else you allegedly get charged for both copies. But, again, it's a no-brainer, you go to Amazon's website, pick the Your Order button, log in, pick the item you want to replace (I think the button is Return Items), describe how it got destroyed in the mail, request the replacement, they provide a cost-free return UPS label, or you can even have UPS pick it up at your house, and they also seperately send you a replacement overnight, they don't wait until you return the damaged one. I do it all the time. (Sad that I have to.)

Edit: Well, I guess never mind. [Not sure why Criterion should have to get involved with Amazon's horrible shipping practices... although I guess on the other hand those clear keepcases do seem to be rather prone to cracking.]
