Yeah, 3 regular 4K titles are 9 cents short of the FS threshold, which is annoying. Only way to make that work is to have one of those 4K titles be one with a higher MSRP like Citizen Kane, Last Picture Show or The Heroic Trio release.

The blu-ray comes in a regular Scanavo case. If the packaging bothers you that much you'll have to buy both versions and put the 4K disc in the blu-ray case.

Criterion was just a bit too pricy for the shipping so I only bought one film for the flash sale.

Crossed out Moonage Daydream entirely, and suddenly got seriously gun shy about Del Toro's Pinocchio.

Right now, all the stuff that is already sitting on my shelf, waiting to be watched, or in the order I just made, is more compelling to me than anything left in my wishlist.

How does free shipping work with the gift cards? I think you need to spend $50, but if you use Criterion gift cards, does that change the free shipping? In other words, if you're ordering $60 worth of merchandise, but using $40 in gift cards, do you still get the free shipping? Thanks.

Wow, Criterion really got me this time! I bought 8 movies and then they sent me a $50 gift card, making me realize I also forgot to use two $10 gift cards I had, so I went back and bought another four movies using all my gift cards.

I also thought free shipping was at $50, but on my order with gift cards, I tried to drop my purchase down to three movies and it didn't hit free shipping despite being over $60, I wondered if maybe free shipping is at $75 now, unless you're right and the gift cards do raise the free shipping threshold? Though technically, I only spent around $20 of my own money in that order, so I think gift cards do count toward free shipping...

Update: Just checked the FAQs and yeah, they did raise the free shipping minimum. "Shipping and handling are free within the United States for orders over $75"

Having a hard time pressing the button on a BD, especially when it is "based on a 4K restoration...." Trying to put myself in the shoes of the Criterion programmer and figure out which BD they will upgrade next....

I've decided I'm fine with a 4K restoration on Blu-ray. The most important part of the work was done to get the best source. The upgrade from BD to UHD is obviously real, but not enough to my eyes that it prevents me from buying a BD. Now if it is an older non-4K source, that's when I hesitate on a BD.
